If you want to edit the Setup.ini resources (such as background and text) you can try Resource Hacker. Cheers, McoreD

WMP10 Slipstreamer Version 1.1

So these features are not included: MPEG Audio Layer-3 DRM Features Portable Media Devices Support Out of Band Component Installer User Mode Driver-related files Additional Encoding and Decoding files WPD Objects? MTP Protocol Additional USB Device Support Online Stores I am fine with this as long as a reinstallation of Windows Media Player 10 will add these features. -
pinout, you not only gave the man a fish but also taught him how to catch them. Much appreciated. SiMoNsAyS, thanks for the method to get rid of the annoying IE window. Cheers, McoreD

My congratulations to both of you Obliviator and Bâshrat the Sneaky. You guys have finally fulfilled a long awaited desire to automate the slipstream process of WMP10 with Windows XP. I furthur tested this WMP10 installation with dxdiag and Windows Media Encoder. It's all perfect. -
That's so very much great. Thanks pinout.

This is a pretty good freeware download manager like FlashGet and no spyware at all. http://www.xi-soft.com/default.htm Is there a method to install this silent? That would be awesome. Cheers, McoreD

@Incroyable HULK: Okay I tried change the last 3 digits to 270. Unfortunately it came up with an error like this: http://members.iinet.net.au/~malith/images...00pid_error.PNG Like prathapml said, I think you will still need the Serial Key. @prathapml: Sorry now I realized that I have had tried ProductKey (just copied from the XPCD winnt.sif). This time I tried ProductID and it is all good. Cheers, McoreD P.S: I would be still interested to know about setupp.ini problem. However since it is grey area I would probably do a private research.
-
@prathapml, thanks I will try that too. @Incroyable HULK, that's great! Is this possible for Windows XP too? I guess not. I am going to try both way. Thanks again, McoreD

Hi there, After completing my Unattended Windows XP CD, I have just started the Unattended Windows 2000 CD yesterday. Strangely, the ProductID is not accepted in winnt.sif file. Can you please enlighten me on how to automate providing the Serial Number for Windows 2000? Everything else is fine i.e. works unattended. Cheers, McoreD

ACDsee is getting bloated like Norton. I uninstalled ACDSee 7.0 and installed ACDSee32 version 2.4.

Hi, You may have figured this already by now. I just found out using REG_EXPAND_SZ you can perform the following Registry operation in CMD files. REG ADD %KEY%\012 /V 1 /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /D "%ProgramFiles%\Mozilla Firefox" /f It will expand out to e.g. C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox. Hopefully we could do this in REG files too. Cheers, McoreD

Hi, Try if this works... REG ADD %KEY%\047 /VE /D "MSN Messenger 6.2" /f REG ADD %KEY%\047 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\Install\Messenger62\MsnMsgs.msi /qn" /f REG ADD %KEY%\048 /V 1 /D "REGEDIT /S %systemdrive%\install\Messenger62\messengeroff.reg" /f messengeroff.reg is in \Install\Messenger62\ Cheers, McoreD

REG ADD %KEY%\062 /V 1 /D "taskkill /F /IM msnmsgr.exe" /f That's what I was looking for. Thanks very much prathapml.

Sometimes antivirus developers errorneously add UPX signature to virus list. So that means it shouldn't be added, should it? Hopefully F-Prot will fix it in their next version.

Hi Dessip, I can see that you are rebooting the computer using avast! Setup. I have the same. I am also trying ot applying a Skin and update the Virus Definitions to the current version. This is the relevant part for that in RunOnceEx.cmd: REG ADD %KEY%\099 /VE /D "avast! 4.1 Professional Edition" /f REG ADD %KEY%\099 /V 1 /D "\"%CDROM%\EXTRA\avast\setupengpro.exe\"" /f REG ADD %KEY%\100 /V 1 /D "\"%CDROM%\EXTRA\avast\vpsupd.exe\"" /f REG ADD %KEY%\101 /V 1 /D "\"%CDROM%\EXTRA\avast\matri-x-kin(boys)_by_szcraftec.aswcs\"" /f For some weird reason, the Skin didn't apply. I will keep you guys informed.

Hi, does this actually work? Unfortunately I didn't have luck getting this to work. I have the following ;Change the Default Browser to Firefox REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\DefaultIcon /VE /D "%PROGRAMFILES%\Mozilla Firefox\Firefox.exe,1" in my Cleanup.cmd. When I manually tested the command line in CMD, this is what I get: Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] © Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp. C:\Documents and Settings\Manila>REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\DefaultIcon /VE /D "%PROGRAMFILES%\Mozilla Firefox\Firefox.exe,1" Value exists, overwrite(Y/N)?
