Updated 12th Dec, 2006: -Changed to Windows Installer Package with cleaner files and uninstall option. -VB scripted to behave exactly like M$'s official theme packs. -Remove all previously installed files before upgrading to Windows Installer.

Thanks, I initially thought it would be quick work, that maybe Royale Noir was 90% done. Turns out, M$ only changed the main graphics and it was more like <50% and with all the bugs. So I had my work cut out, and hence all the updates...

Use reshack to dump from the .msstyles and edit the bitmap in a paint program, then replace back in. It's under the bitmap STARTGROUPTOOLBARBUTTON.BMP. Tip: It's an 8bit bmp so instead of changing the color, change the color palette directly to achieve the desired color.

You're welcome, bro. I'll probably be fixing the inactive taskbar to be less dark as well soon. Anyway, I just reuploaded the files because I'd mistakenly uploaded a version with black program menu background which was for someone else.

Post it! I'll link it in my local forum as well, I'm sure the guys there would love it! A minor update has been done just now to my modded theme. The static start menu now has no more jaggies and no gap between it and the taskbar.

Rush job indeed, the taskpane doesn't show up because the shellstyle.dll is placed wrongly. Move it to \windows\resources\themes\zune\shell\normalcolor creating 2 new folders \shell\normalcolor, and it will work. I do like it though, the bars are more polished, and the controls are matted to match. I'm gonna edit away the orange for my personal use though. It's just sooo... eeew...

Seems with the unofficial public release of Royale Noir, Microsoft was forced to release Zune which looks to be a rush job on Royale Noir. At least it's Microsoft certified.
