  1. my 2 cents: had a netgear, sucked balls (3 replacements, all wouldnt work). bought a linksys, and never looked back, no problems. (but im in USA) PS - asta, stop following me in these forums!!
  2. 3.0.3 i refuse to give in to all these new wizards...
  3. here's the script. Make sure to enter your key... Also, make sure flaskfxp 3 is installed (but not registered) before running this. it will open FlashFXP and paste your key for you, and then close it. sample calling: %cdrom%\Applications\flashfxp\FlashFXP30Setup.exe /silent (actual installer) %cdrom%\Applications\flashfxp\Flash3AutoReg.exe (below) This is newbie4ever's script (which he modified from Muaitai in the UltraISO thread). This is what I use, and it works perfectly... $var = RegRead("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\FlashFXP\3", "Install Path") run($var & "\FlashFXP.exe") Blockinput(1) winwait("FlashFXP Evaluation") controlclick("FlashFXP Evaluation", "Enter code..", "TButton1") winwait("Register FlashFXP", "OK") Clipput("*****PUT YOUR REGISTRATION HERE*****") Send("^+v") controlclick("Register FlashFXP", "OK", "TButton2") winwait("FlashFXP", "OK") controlclick("FlashFXP", "OK", "Button1") winwait("FlashFXP") processclose("flashfxp.exe") exit
  4. I personally hate the wizard. I like to do the coding myself, but that's just a preference. The wizards are the newest features, so they are most likely to bugs (whatever that means - they could be perfect, i dont know, i hate them.) maybe someone else could answer that part. but as a whole, WPI is *the* best thing I have on my U-DVD, with the possible exception of RyanVM's SP2 update pack.
  5. i've been installing >35 programs since WPI 2.7 Never had an error, not even once (besides the ones that were my fault: bad file path, typo, etc.). Then again, I always set var appsPerInstallWindow=60; (I like to see the FULL list of what needs to be installed, and what it's up to.) and from what I understand, that was one of the solutions to the problem...
  6. ok, hasi. here's my idea: I severly dislike the 'options' and 'config' pages in WPI. As an old-school WPI user, I always found it easier to set these options/configs myself. I mean, how hard is it to type "true", "false", "yes", or "no" in the options page???? That said, I do understand why it is useful. Would it be possible to include these 'wizards' in a seperate .hta file in a seperate folder (which can be deleted by the user if he wont use them - meaning they have no direct impact on ay other file, they are simply a conviniece to be used, if desired)? [And therefore remove the 'options' and 'config' buttons from wpi.hta] If I understand correctly, they are merely writing the options for the user to the files anyway... The logic behind this idea is to keep the WPI.hta as simple and universal as possible, and keep WPI itself as stable as possible. This way, any bugs related to the wizards don't need to effect all of WPI.
  7. that wasn't my question. the version after the one i am using is the version where the 'config' wizard was implemented. i dont like it, and i dont want it. i want to know if this last version before it is stable, or are there bugs that were later corrected?
  8. i use an AutoIt script to register this program.
  9. Not to be annoying, but I've heard there are lots of conflict issues when using WinDVD. I used to use it, and hated it. When I switched to PowerDVD the world was good again. I know this doesn't answer your question, but think about it.
  10. I'm particularly curious as to whether 3.0.3 is a stable release - hasi?
  11. not so much a WPI problem, but i remember reading a thread a while back where someone created a program to do this very thing. i hate to be cliche, but try a search...
  12. i know. it only updates virus defs, and only once a week (even though i set it to every day, and my comp is always on) either i'm blind, or do not understand you. where is that thread? anyone have a responce to my inquiry about SAV? "I then switched to SAV 9.0.1.1000. But I am kind of afraid that it isn't actively protecting, even though it is on the system tray. It just seems a lot less active than NAV was..."
  13. new stupid cosmetic wish: categories should not be 'category name' followed by the line-break (<HR>?). Rather, it should be the line-break, followed by the category name. As far as any complaint that it will not be recognizable as a category name, even without changing the color of the category name (which is possible with simple HTML), it is easily discernable, since it is more left justified than the checkboxes.
  14. @Famer: does sav fall under nav?
  15. I was about to tell you that it does... I usually test my code before posting it. I actually like this method. It's the 'official' installer from BitTornado (no offense), with my tiny customization (those **** system tray icons are the only thing i hate) added later.
  16. I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I need advice. I want to implement an antivirus onto my U-DVD. In the old days (before i even started unattended projects) I used NAV. When I started making my U-DVD, I saw NAV was basically impossible to do unattendedly for a universal disk for many computers. I then switched to SAV 9.0.1.1000. But I am kind of afraid that it isn't actively protecting, even though it is on the system tray. It just seems a lot less active than NAV was... I wanted to know, from personal experience, which antivirus scanner is the best? I need real-time scanning, on-demand scanning, low resource hogging, ABLE TO BE INSTALLED UNATTENDEDLY, updatable virus database files (unattendedly - possibly integrating into install files? like i do with SAV now..) i've heard murmurings of Kaspersky and NOD32...anyone have any advice?
  17. actually, i think it is. i had this problem AGES ago when using my Archos Jukebox. it needed a folder with a "." in the beginning and my only solution was through DOS. however, it appears that WinRAR SFX's can do the trick!
  18. huh? that's only 2 command lines...not 5 or 6... also, i agree with the above comments - i do NOT like this 'pre-unpack' idea... seems like an unusable feature only being used because one person simply hasnt finished organizing the SFX archives... PS - sorry hasi, i couldnt resist
  19. Could you release a list of 'stable' releases? For example, I see there are new bugs in the more recent versions. However, I believe these bugs are caused by the added features (wizards, etc.) I want to know which versions are bugfixes (and for what features), and which versions are 'stable'. I used to use 2.7 waaaay back when. Then I used 2.9 (hasi's version). Then, 2.9.8a for a little. Now I am using 3.0.3. I think these were all 'stable' releases, but can you correct me if I am wrong? I usually only upgrade if a new feature is something I want, and only then if the release is stable.
  20. ok, thank you totoymola. based on your idea, i did the following: 1) I run the original installer (bt039a.exe /S) 2) I run my SFX archive (containing the new "icon_bt.ico" and "icon_done.ico")
  21. Obviously that is a solution. But hopefully when RyanVM's bandwidth comes back up, there'll be a fixed version, which we can install whenever we want without having to reboot. <fingers crossed>
  22. are you using COPY or XCOPY for this? what switches does it use? (ex: overwrite, subdirectories, etc.)
  23. ok... so your MSI file is 0.39a, with new icons for: - file types - system tray - connectivity in GUI (top right of torrent) am i missing anything? for the record, it's loads easier when you tell us everything you did. thanks!
  24. I build this a few weeks ago, and I use the latest stable build. That is 0.39a. Icons only. just those two? i noticed the minimized icons (in the system tray) changed to dark grey, and green when finished. did you do that, or was that just the latest release update? (i used 0.3.8 until yours)
