  1. exactly. Clean WinXp-SP2 (your update pack 1.04), with the file i linked to above simply placed into the i386 dir of the cd (before burning the cd, obviously)
  2. i dont know what you mean. i have previously used this msi and it worked fine. only now, following a clean install do i have this problem. the install is just an msi, nothing else is included.
  3. Ok, I went into regedit, and saw that the original "BuildCheckSum"="5c327" I applied the regtweak below (and checked in regedit, it was successfully applied), but QFEcheck still said "This hotfix should be reinstalled." [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP3\KB884020\Filelist\0] "BuildCheckSum"="5c381" why doesn't it work? how do i fix it?
  4. FYI hasi- this is off-topic, but i downloaded 3.3.3 - font problem still not fixed.
  5. I have no clue. I personally don't even use it. From what I've been told, though, is that you'll notice when you use P2P programs like eDonkey.I found a way. If you run "EvID4226Patch.exe", it will tell you what the current set value is. Not to be rude, but I've searched through this thread and I don't know/see which reg entry you mean. Maybe you could repost?Sorry, that was on my other forum:http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=415#415 Ryan, could you post the actual coding for the .reg file to modify this setting and make QFECheck to report KB884020 as properly installed? I'm not the best at reg files.. Thanks so much.
  6. i just include a file called 'WPI Version 3.3.2 (2004-01-06)' (for example) in my WPI folder. I make the file as soon as I extract it, so there is no confusion.
  7. do you also have a 'wpi.ico' on E:\? If so, it would find that one, and set that as CDROM.
  8. what in the world does this have to do with the topic?
  9. if you make collapsable categories, please make an option to disable it as well. i like them the way they are.. LOL
  10. Ok, just finished my lastest real-world test. Everything went fine, except for one problem. When installing my LimeWire 4.2.6 (using a MSI), I get the following error: Does anyone know what is causing this error, and how would I fix it? I install LimeWire using this code: msiexec.exe /qb /i %cdrom%\\Applications\\limewire\\LimeWirePro426.msi Also, FYI, I call a installed a number of other MSI's without problem. Also, FYI, I uninstalled LimeWire and reinstalled it using the above installation code (before I reformatted), and it WORKED. so it's not the msi itself. however, it did NOT work following my latest format/clean-installation... what's going on?
  11. you're not being clear. what do you want? programs to install immediatly, or on the following reboot? now they're set to install immediatly. if you want to change the order in which they install, see the WPI homepage and read up about the ordr function.
  12. Read the WPI homepage before asking. the function already exists. i believe it is call ordr
  13. runonceex runs AFTER windows install finishes... the programs you select in WPI should install immediatly.
  14. or, the other option (if you know html, and want to make a theme), is to edit wpi.htm, and add in a <script> command in the <head> section...like so: therefore, the tooltips are ONLY changed if I select this theme, but any other theme has the standard tooltups. Thanks to hasi for helpin me with that one.
  15. i actually was opposed to the whole "reallyforce" idea when it came up way back when. I also agree "exit" should mean just that - EXIT - NOT install. 'force on install anything' = 'force installation if anything is checked'? just to clarify. future ideas you have sound good though
  16. well, hopefully hasi can make sense out of this.
  17. strange. someone else had this "Írom" problem: here. I wonder if the cases are somehow related? both are discussing cond[pn]. I don't use cond, so I'm not much help here. maybe hasi knows what's going on...
  18. First of all, thanks so much!! Not to be rude, but I've searched through this thread and I don't know/see which reg entry you mean. Maybe you could repost? also, when does this regtweak need to be applied? anytime? Thanks again!! [edit] is there any way to test if the file has been 'properly' installed (how do i know if 100 connections are allowed on my system?)
  19. Awesome, thanks in advance! (Does this work for English XP-SP2?) [Also, maybe you should include this in your Update Pack? Just an idea...]
  20. But didn't you just say it won't work because there's an update or something? You said: IMO, this is kind of useless since there's already a critical update for SP2 which includes a version of tcpip.sys that postdates the RTM version. Gotcha. So will that show up in Windows Update? Or just be mentioned in QFECheck? And which one should I download? SiMoNsAyS version, or Alanoll version? (I have English WinXP SP2)
  21. So I should run the tool, and copy "tcpip.sy_" from: where? then put it in the i386 then itll work fine, and won't interfere with your pack at all? Why will it say that KB884020 isn't installed?
  22. isn't that the whole different between Force and ReallyForce? whether or not it's installed when unchecked? or am i wrong?
  23. i don't know, i don't use it. i keep everything in config.js exactly how it looks on the screen (categories, entries, etc.)
