I also just got the problem with a Sony Vaio FX220 Laptop. I never noticed it before, because I alway just let it use the default XP drivers Digital Audio Intel® 815EM with 3D surround It looks like its integrated with the onboard video chipset somehow. Yet I googled and found others claiming its a Soundmax controller on this model. Product Specs: http://www.docs.sony.com/release/specs/PCGFX220_mksp.pdf So a temporary get around is to remove the R Directory in DriverPack_Sound.7z\Drivers\S ? Does anything need to be modded in txtsetup.sif?

I hate it, I hate it! It just don't works
DigeratiPrime replied to JamieWolf's topic in Device Drivers
it looks like your using an outdated version of nLite. Also why not try out Bâshrat the Sneaky's DriverPacks with Method 2, its very easy to use (i think easier) , and will save you much space over the Winnt.sif method. I really reccomend it, give method 2 a shot. -
Registering File Extensions Unattended
DigeratiPrime replied to SiMoNsAyS's topic in Application Installs
FLAC and OGG both opened with WMP10, yet you still need to tell it to "never ask about this extension again" when the warning comes up the first time. [EDIT] Solution add this to registry: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Extensions\.flac] "Runtime"=dword:00000001 "Permissions"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Extensions\.ogg] "Runtime"=dword:00000001 "Permissions"=dword:00000001 This code looks identical to yours though, I am doing something wrong? However that doesnt fix this next issue: I've noticed a few things though, these files have a different Icon from other registered media files. And they cannot be added to Media Player with the Context Menu or Music Tasks. I attatched a picture to show what I mean. Nothing is really wrong here, its just missing some functionality. If I select them>right click>open WMP only opens one of them or crashes. -
You might be recording something, or even while watching tv MCE buffers it to the hard disk temporarily so you can pause/ff/rw/etc. That would be my guess. [EDIT] no capture card, hmm] you can nLite an Xp MCE disc, almost completely the same as a non-mce xp. I've removed the following with nLite and it seems to work great. [Components] Accessibility Options Briefcase Defragmenter Internet Games Screensavers Wordpad Cameras and Camcorders Display Adapters Toshiba DVD decoder card Ethernet (LAN) IBM Thinkpad ISDN Modems MultiFunctional Multi-port serial adapters Portable Audio SCSI Smartcards Sound Controllers Communication tools Internet Information Services MSN Explorer Peer-to-Peer Arabic Baltic Central Europe Chinese Simplified Chinese Traditional Cyrillic Georgian Greek Hebrew Indian Japanese Korean Thai Turkish Vietnamese Multilanguage Support (LANG dir) Service Pack Messages Input Method Editor Mouse Cursors Movie Maker Music Samples Old CDPlayer and Sound Recorder Paint Roland SoundCanvas Sound Set Speech Support Tablet PC Administrator VB scripts Disk Cleanup DR Watson File and Settings Wizard Help MS Agent Search Assistant Tour Zip Folders Alerter ClipBook Indexing Service System Restore

cool, makes sense. I would guess if you had automount on and several virtual drives loaded, it would still emulate all the image files. Good to Know.

Im no expert but I noticed the changelog shows an outdated version of the SoundMax driver, Asus has the current version set at 5.12.01.3663 here but even that version is dated 2003/09/10, there is a newer BETA driver here for my motherboard at least. K8V series beta version audio driver (2004/07/01 ) Also I remeber the last time I got a missing RealTek AC97 driver during GuiSetup (not sure if nLite had anything to do with it), that WindowsUpdate showed an updated driver dated something like Oct 22 2004. However I don't see this update anymore??? just FYI

what exactly does automount do?

DigeratiPrime replied to SiMoNsAyS's topic in Application Installs
Thank you for updating the post with more options!!! I will test these very soon! [EDIT] I can confirm that FLAC was recognized by Media Player 10, that was great. For Daemon, I omitted the right click entries from it, and it worked just as well. -

New Eminem bashing Bush song - Strong Song
DigeratiPrime replied to XPerties's topic in General Discussion
I don't think the "What Barry Says" Video implied or said all of us 'don't care'. It clearly stated Neoconservatism. I think its a good cup of coffee. more vid/docs at GNN (if you have time): http://www.guerrillanews.com/videos/ personally reccomend the Tibet one. -

I watched it at first I didn't care for the style, but I watched it again afterwards and I focused on the message/lyrics and liked it somewhat better. It's hard to compare with so many different videos coming out. The Registry Tweak applies settings to the following file types. .cue .iso .bwt .cdi .b5t .ccd .mds .nrg .pdi [EDIT] SimonSays has posted a simple method that will associate files with their proper applications so you don't have to go through with the painstaking process each time. This can be used to make images mount just by double clicking on them and can also add a mount/unmoun to the context menu. Registering Extensions Unattended The original method (more work): http://www.plawer.dk/item/2004/10/11/mount...in_daemon_tools

Agh, I was able to create a MST file for this, and it only did half of what I told it to do. I was able to change/delete the shortcuts it creates, but I wasnt able to change the install options. For example say I just want to install the image editor. Anyone know how to do this?
-
how do you create a MST file for this? [EDIT] missed ealier post with instructions sorry.

same problem with Asus K8V SE Deluxe Motherboard, BSOD during setup, Reset, but then resumed without crash. I will update BIOS when I get home. It later asked for a missing Realtek driver, but I don't remember the details.
-
sorry I don't know much about your situation in regards to tv. Last bit I can share is to contact the companies that make tuners esp hauppague, avermedia, ati, nvidia and try to convince them why they should make what you want. good luck.

i agree the quality is miserable, but I dont think the HD stuff will be a reality for at least 2 or more years.
-
thanks i'll give it a try within a day or two. It was the only Maxtor drive in the house, and it was hooked up on the same dual IDE cable with the DVD drive. Didn't think of that. Couldn't hurt to try, Thanks.

believe it or not, I had problems getting the computer to boot from DVD to install windows, and when I got it working it was insanely slow on the real pc, wmware speed was not affected. I think it had something to do with using "CD"image, so then I tried UltraISO, but I think that it just created an obese CD image, lol. I used a NEC 2500a and an Epox EP-8RDA3+ Mobo. Can anyone drop a quick advice for how to burn a bootable DVD properly?

Personally I have purchased several (new and refurbsihed) Avermedia m150 tuners from NewEgg, they're cheap and work very good. http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc....-100-007&depa=0 I've used them flawlessly in MCE2002/2004/2005. I've heard the quality is indistinguishable from the Hauppauge PVR-250MCE, and I just noticed they now have a PVR-150MCE which is probably the same thing without a remote. The fact is the Avermedia and Hauppauge use the same chipsets, so the quality should be about the same. Some good sites to learn more about the stuff is: http://www.thegreenbutton.com/ http://www.xpmce.com/ [EDIT] btw this is the case I used, a nice small micro-ATX Mini-Tower/Desktop. PROs: Cheap, Very Good Quality, Nice apperance, includes power supply, absolutely silent - the stupid 60mm fans. which I modded to 80mm fans. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-190-005&depa=0 Product Homepage (better pictures): http://www.athenatech.us/a100bb.htm

I think this is it: ;Fix for DSO Exploit that Spybot complains about [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0] "1004"=dword:00000003

I dont know the construction of the CD's inside and out, but I don't see why adding patches to MCE 2005 CD's is a big deal. From what I understand the only difference is when the user inputs a MCE Product ID and Setup installs the MCE cab files. CD1 is just a XP Pro Disc, and when a MCE key is entered the 'extra' files from cd2 are copied as well. Correct me if if wrong.

Driverpack Massstorage - V5.03
DigeratiPrime replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
First nLite then add DriverPacks. Thats good to hear, I wasn't sure, but I guessed it right anyhow. I saw the txtsetup.old, is that safe to delete? Btw thank you for the new DriverPacks, so much nicer than the prior releases. I was finally able to enjoy the power of method 2. B) -
RunOnceEx only runs after a reboot
DigeratiPrime replied to nivek7's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Were you able to resolve this? My latest CD is also hanging when setup finished, just a blank blue screen. My only suspicion is that since I used a Microsoft Corporation.img from a different CD, and didnt use CDIMAGE for this one. I'll try changing this later. After I Reset Manually it loads XP for the first time to setup Updates/Accounts/Etc and continues fine.
