How do I take out the "Welcome To Windows" etc.
This is my winnt.sif file, the only difference i can see is the quotation marks on some items, which shouldnt really make a difference, but in the deployment tools reference file it does not use them. not really sure why you are getting that problem though. [Data] AutoPartition=0 MsDosInitiated=0 UnattendedInstall=Yes AutomaticUpdates=Yes [unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=Yes TargetPath=\WINDOWS FileSystem=* UnattendSwitch=Yes WaitForReboot=No DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=255 OemSkipWelcome=1

SP2 and LAN IP address problem
at the moment i only have two computers connected up as a LAN, this didnt happen with SP1. When Sp2 booted up the first time after runoncex, etc, the LAN icon was sitting there trying to configure an IP address on its own and couldnt, there is also one other note, when XP was installing it gave me an error saying that i had another computer with the same netowrk name, but i changed that later and still had the ip problem, could this be the reason??

RegTweak for start menu
ive tried the reg tweaks, but also some things didnt work, for instance the screen saver is still active, even though its specified to be off during the theme installation and as a separate registry tweak. so im going to just try delete all the screen savers as specified in the original cleanup.cmd

SP2 and LAN IP address problem
Hi guys, i have just tried out SP2 clean install unattended and all went well until the little icon in the taskbar with the network icon started displaying a message saying that i had little or no connectivity, when i checked the message out it says you could not be assigned an IP address, so i tried a couple of ways and got it to work by manually configuring it. Has anyone had such a problem, if so how can it be dealt with? If not, is there any ways so that you can configure an ip address to be given during unattended install? for instance is there a way to make it assign say 169.254.219.*, where the * would be a random numbe rwindows could choose for you?? Thanks for any help given.

Cleaning up shortcuts
ok, sorry about that i just found a solution to it, which i fluked, the original was: DEL "%AllUsersprofile%\Desktop\Alcohol 120%.lnk", but for dos to recognise a % sign, i did this : DEL "%AllUsersprofile%\Desktop\Alcohol 120%%.lnk" with 2 % signs it worked.

Cleaning up shortcuts
I have been using the cleanup.cmd file quite effectively to cleanup after the program installations, but I can not get rid of the Alcohol 120%.lnk on the desktop. I always test the code first so i tried without any success: DEL "%AllUsersprofile%\Desktop\Alcohol 120%.lnk" but it gives a file not found when tried in a dos window and notes that ...Alcohol 120.lnk could not be found, meaning it does include the % thus giving me a mismatch, does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.
