  1. Default hide makes it so it will hide any screen you supply information for. Since you supply everything but the serial number the only thing it will prompt you for is the serial.
  2. That's even easier. Just copy whatever shorcuts you want to have into cd-root\$OEM$\$Docs\Default User\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch Just make sure the shortcuts you put in there will work correctly with the paths on the new install. For example if you create a shortcut to Nero C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero and put it in there but then install Nero on your cd to C:\Program Files\Nero it's obviously not going to work.
  3. Also...I've seen this 'google as default search' tweak floating around. I've tried to use it a couple of times but I can't figure out what it does. I believe the code was: ;----- ;----- Add Google As Main Search Page ;----- [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] "Search Page"="http://www.google.com" "Search Bar"="http://www.google.com/ie" [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL] ""="http://www.google.com/keyword/%s" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search] "SearchAssistant"="http://www.google.com/ie" ;----- ;----- Search with google from the address bar instead of MSN ;----- [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchUrl\G] @="http://www.google.com/search?q=%s" What exactly does this do?
  4. There was a registry tweak for WMP9: ;Remove the Queue-it-up, Burn to CD right click options on Windows Media Player files. [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{CE3FB1D1-02AE-4a5f-A6E9-D9F1B4073E6C}] [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{F1B9284F-E9DC-4e68-9D7E-42362A59F0FD}] [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{8DD448E6-C188-4aed-AF92-44956194EB1F}] Is there a similar one for WMP10 that removes: Add to Now Playing List Add to Playlist... Add to Sync List Add to Burn List ???
  5. Windows sets it up for you. You don't have to do anything. The point is that the updated file is integrated into the CD prior to hotfix installation, which is important for security fixes and stuff. ...for now So what you're saying is that Windows will do everything automatically such that after a clean install the update will be in effect? If I use the TCPIP.SY_ you posted will it be overwritten?
  6. Ok so then I still need to install it using the exe? Seems kinda silly to have a /integrate that does nothing but unpack some files.
  7. Ok I used /integrate on WindowsXP-KB884020-x86-enu.exe and integrated it on the CD. I assume this means that if I install XP using this CD KB884020 will be already installed. People are talking about an EXE...what is that for?
  8. I don't fully understand this GDI+ tool. On a fresh install of XPSP2 with .NET 1.1 SP1 and Office2k3 SP1 it still tells me I have affected software. Does anyone know why? I don't mind applying the reg tweak but I'd feel safer if the tool said I was ok.
  9. The picture says it all. I want to have this checked by default. I tried RegShot but for whatever reason Office decided to get in my way and add a million registry tweaks into the same shot. Now I don't know how to reenable it to shoot again.
  10. I have 2003 SP1 and I too have an update now: Update for Outlook 2003: Junk E-mail Filter (KB870765) Guess I'm gonna have to read up on how to integrate it
  11. That example isn't really appropriate for the situation. The quote was talking about NOW products vs FUTURE products. You were comparing two FUTURE products. Also a lot of the other things you mentioned are a function of the times. It's sort of like saying how much hype was Mario 1 was getting before it came out. It wasn't getting a whole lot because that kind of thing wasn't as big for video games as it is now. Plus you're forgetting about 'real' people. Do you think my parents know what Longhorn is? Do you think the average person on the street knows what it is? Did they know what Whistler was either? Nope but that's just the way it is. Do my parents know about SP2? You bet they do because that information is all over the place where non-techie people actually read. As for leakage it's not any different than it was in earlier days. These Longhorn alphas are released to people who attend the conferences. It just happens that today it's a LOT easier to share those things (P2P networks, BT, etc. are all a lot more popular). What it really comes down to is that information is transferred more easily and to more people now than it ever has been.
  12. i totally agree. I don't because 'XP Reloaded' is all about promoting XP and how it's become a lot better since it was first released. Sure they're still promoting Longhorn a whole lot (arguably more) but they also have plans to promote XP too.
  13. Has anyone posted how to remove the new context menu items for WMP10? What I mean is when you right click on a media file it has new options exclusive to WMP10 like: "Add to Now Playing List" "Add to Playlist..." "Add to Sync List" etc. Anyone have the tweaks needed to remove them?
  14. Just wanting to confirm that if I had a successful setup with the 5.04 msi I should just be able to replace it with the new one and be all set right? There hasn't been any major changes has there? (especially with the ini)
