@pletwal_blekitny: To get rid of that error make sure you put setup.exe into the sources folder of your lightened image from the sources folder in the original.

Does anyone think PC gamers have gone down a path to which there is no return in terms of MW2, I mean look at what happend, no DS no PB and steam quite a lot of people screamed BOYCOTT!! and now look lots of them ended up buying the game Would this then mean that other developers having seen that quite a few of us are all mouth no action would end up doing the same ??

I've just seen why my 7300GS is soo hot.. its 90nm I will most probably get a 9600GT or 4650/70

I reinstalled windows 7 and installed nvidia forceware 187.62 and it seems to be ok now :S I think it might have been a driver problem I was on 191.07 that I downloaded from windows updates. By the way can you reccomend the 9600GT as a good step up from my current hardware ?? or will i need to look a bit higher ?

What I meant was im replacing it. I mean its a 250W GENERIC PSU not a lot of power coming from it and that COULD result in poor performance ? Only thing new is maybe a Google Sketchup update and a HD defrag. The HD activity light only really comes on like once in a while when the game needs to access some files, in windows it occasionally blinks once in a while. A snapshot of coretemps and Gpu tools, my cpu temps really max out at 45 during any game, and gpu goes anywhere between 60 - 85. Come to mention it I did run windows update last night it installed 4 updates for windows and 2 for IE8 it also wanted to download 1 for WDDM drivers for nVidia but I rejected because I have the latest drivers

Just gave AVG a full run and picked up nothing :S strange becausee today its picked up a bit more performance

Hey all, I was wandering what could be causing this, Yesterday I was able to run CoD4 with shadows enabled at a steady 25 - 40 FPS, and other games with pretty good settings considering the hardware, but today CoD4 would barely go past 10fps :S any ideas what could be causing this ? My specs are; Intel E2140 @ 1.6Ghz 2Gb ddr2 667Mhz ram GeForce 7300GS @ 625/800 250W PSU (soon to go) Could it be the PSU is ready to go ??

Jeronimo I was going to ask is it normal that if I use Windows 7 Professional I will get 3 - 5 errors in package removal all to do with Home Premium packages ??

Those aren't the only reasons why I'm not buying it, theres also going to be no PB which did a great job of getting rid of cheaters although sometimes it does get it wrong.

There was actually an issue with the other upgrade I did . My brother flipped the voltage switch at the back and blew the PSU to bits

Hi again. I recently got some cash and I was wandering is it worth while replacing my E2140 with a Phenom X3 the 2.4Ghz edition ??

Are those temps good enough to OC with because on my 667Mhz RAM set my E2140 can go to about 2.8 - 3Ghz I hear.

I was going to add ASUS P5QPL-AM would this be so bad its got the PCI-E 2.0 as well. Then I can OC my CPU to like 2.8 if i'm lucky. I will most likely put in an order for this stuff today I also get a PSU now then a GPU in a month. PS. is 30C Idle good for a CPU ?? and 37C under load ?

Yeah I see what you mean but the main issue is my budget and all the PCI-E 2.0 boards I'm seeing are out of my budget. The thing is my budget depends on how well I do in my exams lol. all A's will get me £100 or over A/B's will get me £80 to £90 and so on vica versa.

So really then I should be looking at getting a proper case a PSU and graphics. I mainly use this PC for games but I set everything to medium @ 1280x768 like WiC and CoD4. Tbh I was only thinking of the Galaxy 3 because it was cheap and reviews were good and it has a slot for 120mm intake fan and 2x80mm outakes. And the PSU I was looking at were the same reasons all the reviews were good even worked on mid - high end systems like with 4850's Although my current case Isn't hot at all. My CPU is at 45C under load with fan pretty slow. Only thing hot is GPU cause its got a crappy excuse for a fan I may as well breathing on it thats how crap it is.

Now I can look for a C2D on Ebay or is it possible to use my E2140 in the new mobo if it supports it ?? Is it worth overclocking it as it only has 1mb L2

My current specs are Intel Pentium Dual Core E2140 @ 1.6Ghz + 1mb L2 2gb Kingston DDR2 667Mhz RAM 5-5-5-15 nVidia GeForce 7300GS 256mb ddr2 @ 625Mhz / 1640Mhz Acer F672CR mobo with SiS 672 Chipset. 250W Generic PSU First of all my budget isn't very high as I'm just a teenager but I don't mind building up slowly. I know First thing I need to change is PSU but I Have a 800w PSU coming in soon from Novatech. My main priority would be the CPU and Mobo but I'm having a slight dilemma my mind is telling me go for a cheap Foxconn Mobo that will take a C2D or C2Q with FSB upto 1600Mhz but then I don't want it to turn out to be a complete flop any tips ??

@Jeronimo. The cleanup seems to work properly now I get 3 messages saying "operation completed successfully" but a 4th message appears saying could not find "*.*mid" but it doesn't seems serious atleast I hope not

@Jeronimo. I was having issues removing the "IE Optionals Package" saying something like check arguments are correct but I fixed it by copying the details from sausagehacks batch file

nice my x64 win 7 RTM is at 730mb install.wim tested yesterday to be working fully looking forward to putting some gaming on that OS for tests
