  1. Phoenix is the best browser, it has all the features mozilla/IE have plus more. Some called it Mozilla Lite because doesn't use a lot of resources, and has a small noncomplex options menu. This also has built in popup support, image blocking, cookie blocking and other stuff. Also like someone said above, it's skinable.
  2. Yea before you say not another client, this one is actually good. It reminds of KaZaA, but without the ads and spyware. Right now the network lacks the people (616 people/3974.00GB/384849 files), but I've found it to be just as good as KaZaA. There are some things I've found here that I couldn't find on KaZaA, so that's a plus. Help this network. Oh wait I forgot to tell you the name of the network. The network is called giFT (www.giftproject.org), and you can get a bunch of clients for multiple OSes. A good Windows client is KCeasy, give it a try, tell me what you think. For more clients for different OS's go to www.giftproject.org http://kceasy.sourceforge.net/
  3. So there might be a chance that there may soon be landspeeders like in Star Wars?
  4. Lol nice find, I'll be having fun for hours. BTW I wouldn't be putting Usernames/passwords in any forms going through that page for security reasons if I were you. All data goes through that site, meaning any password sniffer out there can pick stuff up.
  5. That's really sad they pulled the game because you kill people with turbans... first of all, turban wearing people are not a race... If I decide to wear a turban does that mean I'm part of this "race"? Why don't people complain about white people getting killed in video games? I mean the games are being racist against white people..... I don't see their logic behind this, but then again most of the world's population is stupid..
  6. Kazaa Lite is the way to go if you ask me. I get 100-200kb/s downloads, which is fast enough if you ask me. As for that screenshot, Kazaa has addware, so where are the adds in that? It looks pretty cool that it's smaller, but my guess is that'll be a pay version of KaZaA.
  7. So you're saying these leaked betas are legal to download and MS doesn't care if you download them or not?
  8. For me I want Splinter Cell for Xbox, maybe some ground effects for the car and a few more speakers for the room... My dream Christmas preset is a plasma TV, but I don't think my parents will get me that. Oh yea I think Halo 2 is right up there with a plasma TV.
  9. Looks like a StylesXP theme gone bad :-P. I think the default XP interface looks a lot nicer, plus this looks pretty much like XP with that side menubar...
  10. The winamp type clone I'm using is XMMS, it has all the functionality of Winamp 2 and can use all the Winamp skins. The skin I have is "System of a Down", which can be found in www.winamp.com under Winamp 2 skins. Great player, uses low resources.. Yea I'm using fluxbox, which is based of blackbox... You can get Fluxbox working in lindows if you try I'm sure. Go to http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net and read up on the documentation and go to www.linuxnewbie.org if you have any questions, or send me an email at gamma@cox.net w/ any specifics. Yea linux is the best for me as of right now, my kernel/GUI use practically no resources, something which Windows has been having problems with. The newer the version of Windows the more demanding the hardware. I can get Linux running on a 200mhz laptop with no problem.... Windows XP on it... yea right. It's stable and fast, and I compile everything from source so it's optimized for MY system.
  11. Mac OSX is a sweet looking OS, with some good media functions and video editing. It's too user friendly for me, it looks really nice, I like how the dock bar on the bottom expands when you highlight an icon and it shows thumb nails of the processes in the dock bar. Linux is my OS of choice... My Linux Screenshot (1600X1200)
  12. Linux for me.... You can basically have any GUI you want, runs better than Windows and looks cooler. I want to give longhorn a try, I'll wait until the bugs are worked out better. I'm not a fan of upgrading my OS (from a fresh install) to a new build every other week. You have to start from scratch and it's annoying. Screenshot... Me looking busy...
  13. Umm I've learned most of my linux stuff from experience. I suggest reading stuff from www.linuxnewbie.org, or if you have a problem post there.
  14. FthrJACK I use Gaim http://gaim.sourceforge.net. It's the best program out there for IM, has support for Aim, ICQ, MSN, IRC, Napster, Jabber and pretty much any other client out there. In my opinion it's WAY better than Trillian for Windows. Check it out... As for a real MSN client, don't try to get the Windows one working with wine just use AMSN. http://amsn.sourceforge.net/ It looks exactly like MSN and has all the features (to my knowledge). Yea most good games work on Linux, I've got Quake 3, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and UT2K3 working. FthrJACK did you get your screenshots posted? I got KaZaA Lite working through wine.. if anyone wants to know ask and I'll see if I can dig the link up.
  15. Well if you're refering to my screenshot, the interface I'm using now is called Fluxbox, and the menu bar colors and menu colors can be anything you want. You can add some snazzy effects also, and it supports gradients (fades from one color to another) and you can change the fonts and stuff. KDE (looks like Windows), another interface supports transparency and looks a ton better than Windows, but takes just as long to start up. Everything in my screenshot is pretty much using custom things that I've edited. That's the thing I like with Linux you can do whatever you want to your system. If you want it to look one way you have the option to. Windows ties users down with a limited number of theme options even with the modded uxthemes.dll.
