  1. The version 2013 giveaway is indeed version abs 11, but comes with updated crapware. I'm not so exited about the paid vs. free version, because we have to deal with the crap regardless. The paid version should, in my opinion, allow for a completely clean install. That is not the case. Inf install looks interesting, if this prevents the crap from installing. Modifying the Inno script takes a while so any alternatives are most welcome. Cheers.
  2. Kayo90 asked me for a similar installer but for Ashampoo Burning Studio version 6 FREE. Consider it done, you have to test it and I expect some feedback on how it worked. All options that apply to version 12 also apply to version 6 FREE, with three exceptions: - Does not need a key - Default language is English - All languages have been preserved. This one had a horseload of crap inside, but Ashampoo has become "clean" now. Date: December 24, 2012 Filename: abs6_free.exe Size: 6,89 MB (7.226.557 bytes) CRC32: 5784AAC6 MD5: B6E6533777EC41EECD89C6DD6291C354 SHA-1: 518AEFC148E3A0C45CFA60B87E12E65EF9A8F597 Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?gj474o56tsp4dp2 Cheers. Edit: Moderator, could you please edit the titel and put also version 6 FREE in it? Thanks!
  3. Today I made a passive installer for Ashampoo Burning Studio 12, this was released over at Ryan's. Sorry if this looks like a copy-and-paste (well, it is...) but I'm a lazy bastard so you'll have to do it with this. Ashampoo Burning Studio 12 Lite / Trial Author: Ashampoo GmbH https://www.ashampoo.com/uk/eur This installer is (again) based on n0ak's Inno script and also contains his reg tweaks. I've managed to get the size down a lot, the original installer contains a whole bunch of crap. This is not an Autoit script, and Burning Studio is not NSIS based, it's Inno. Getting this done "the right way" is time consuming but yields excellent results, just look at the final size. What does this do? - Installs Ashampoo Burning Studio 12 without the crap - Only English and Spanish language included - Shows installer in one of the two languages, depending on OS language - Sets automatically the UI language, depending on OS language What does it not do? - Doesn't install the toolbar - Doesn't autostart Internet explorer or Ashampoo after install - Doesn't change the default web explorer search provider - Doesn't install the gadget, - Service channel is disabled - Doesn't install themes , all languages removed except English and Spanish). Edit: If people want the themes, I can make them available as a separate download. The package comes in over 100MB. I have no idea if I'm breaking any rule or law by doing so, if that should be the case, the deal is off Last but not least, key is not included, you may edit the reg files in the archive to add your own key. Date: December 24, 2012 Filename: abs12trial.exe Size: 41,3 MB (43.343.452 bytes) CRC32: 1A1F10CB MD5: 0878F982DBC972DA44A6A503E98244F4 SHA-1: 16F4BDB7E2BDA52AD4A89845F7E395087DB415B4 Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?z2714ciqo8dq2mk Credits: n0ak for his work on the Inno script shiner for his ideas on multilanguage SFX. Cheers.
  4. It's not that hard, it only takes a bit of reading. The only correct way of automatically removing old Java installations is by means of the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMIC). It will remove any and all Java version on the system. You can use a vb script for that. Installation of the updated Java package is a little tricky on x64 OS. First do the x64, afterwards the x86 part. I made my own dual arch Java package based on Kels ideas, it kills and uninstalls automatically all old Java stuff by means of WMIC. Haven't released it yet, but if you want to test it drop me a line. Cheers.
  5. Rosewill RK-101 Black 107 Normal Keys PS/2 Standard Enhanced Keyboard indeed has a right winkey. As a matter of fact, it has the right win key followed by the menu key, both are present. Or you have changed the definition of win keys, or I'm just plain wrong since 1995. Cheers.
  6. In my case, something really weird happens. When installing or upgrading SiB, Java plugin does not work anymore in IE10 desktop mode. It only happens in IE10, Java works fine in other browsers. In IE10, on the bottom edge, a message shows: "A plugin for this site failed to load." But two days later Java loads fine again and it's only until the next update of SiB when it fails again - just for one or two days. Cheers.
  7. Well, I would like to have some themes for the start menu as MrGRiM proposed. It's always good to have some choice so it blends in nicely. Cheers.
  8. Rather pointless discussion, Windows 8 is a lot better than Windows 7 and I consider SiB a usability enhancement for Windows 8. Get the best of both worlds. Anyway I received Tihiy's gift and want to thank him for that and for his hard work, I'm proud to be a (small) part of this project. Cheers.
  9. Spanish translation now finished and sent by email. The middle mouse button clic to bring up the start screen does NOT work for me either, as reported by someone in this thread. Cheers.
  10. Tihiy, I would like to do the Spanish translation. Could not find your email but will send you a message as soon as possible. Cheers.
  11. StartIsBack would not have anything to do with Java not working in IE10, would it? The java test says that Java cannot run in metro-mode and that is has to be run in desktop mode... But I am running it in desktop mode... Cheers.
  12. I was trying to avoid running a beta version of the program, but...I couldn't resist anymore and removed ClassicShell, then installed StartIsBack. It's impressive, integrates perfectly and even the default orb is OK. And the setup package is only 586KB, lol! Absolutely no issues here. Not going back, this is a keeper, thanks Tihiy!
  13. Same question here. I have got four PC's. Besides that, in my country there are no easy ways of getting money abroad. The people that can transfer abroad are charging for that so in the end it can get a bit costly. I'd rather see Tihy not charging for the utility but if he does, I'll buy it anyway. Cheers.
  14. Nice work. Just a couple of dumb questions: Can we still use the hotkeys like WinX? Beta will run for 14 days, I'll wait until you release some final and then donate (don't like to use beta soft) How much $ will this be? Thanks for the hard work and hopefully you can make a killer app out of this! Cheers.
  15. A huge thanks for the quick implementation! Dont worry, I do not need most GUI options at this moment. This is my flow: 1. Prepare disk 2. Choose OS 3. Choose OS version (Ultimate for example) 4. Choose Install partition 5. Apply Image 6. Postrun command executed (.cmd file) From that moment I reboot the system and the rest of the whole process should be unattended, both for XP and Win7 including program install from ROE. Goal is to deploy several OS with the help of only one utility, and to make it as simple and fool proof as possible. Sometimes however I forget stupid things, for example to set the primary partition active, causing no boot and that makes me loose time. Your program is a bit more automated so that's one thing I like, later I hope to move the disk preparation also inside WinNTSetup. The reason I did the WIM for XP is because a lot of computers I work with still run XP and won't be upgraded to 7 anytime soon. Please allow me to test this method, if anything comes up I'll give feedback. Cheers.
  16. Hi JFX, At the moment I'm using nt6fast installer, modified to suit my needs. I would like to start using your GUI installer, and it definitely works for W7. The point is, I have made an universal XP WIM image, that can be applied by the nt6fast installer script. I have modified the script so it doesn't create W7 bootfiles but instead XP bootfiles when the XP WIM has been selected. Could you implement some (advanced) option to choose the type of bootsector to be written? I would be able to select my XP WIM and after imaging the WinNTSetup would write the correct bootsector. On a side note, I don't use normal XP setup anymore, it takes too long. Another request, is it possible to add a post processing command in the tool? Such as: After imaging run xxx.cmd. So far for the requests, I can't remember if there is an option to automatically load the .ini at startup...If not, it would be neat! It should be noted that the NT6fast installer didn't work on Windows XP, I'll have to test your tool to see if it does, the problem lies in the multilanguage OS. I use Spanish and it only runs on Windows 7, not on XP. Given the fact that my XP PE is much smaller and thus loads faster, that would be the preferred platform for WinNTSetup. Cheers. There may be a solution to this... From the help page: - /NoBootSect - will not update BootSector and Master Boot Record - /RunAfter:{command} - will run a command before reboot So lets say we use these commandline switches to launch WinNTSetup, then it would be possible to run a .cmd file that does the bootsector for XP. Automatically loading of the .ini should be possible in the same way. You have done a pretty good job!
  17. I was wondering, we have to use a backslash when using " so it becomes \" in the config file. But what about the single quote? Is the backslash needed also? Example: ' becomes \' I have this problem with the malwarebytes silent installer that uses a ' in the name.
  18. I'm testing the latest 7z SFX "all" module, but sometimes there's an error: Insufficient physical memory available. Extracting might take a long time Given the fact that this is a silent install, it would be nice if there was some method to suppress this message? Cheers,
  19. Just finished modifying the installer for version 11.0.4.8 As before, here's a new Ashampoo Burning Studio 11 installer that: 1. Does not install the MyAshampoo toolbar 2. Does not autostart IE (or any browser) 3. Does not change default search scope 4. Does not install gadgets 5. Does not autostart Ashampoo Burning Studio after install. Shortcut will be created for all users. The offending components have been completely removed from the package AND from the script. Only English and Spanish language has been preserved. The installer has been repacked into a 7z switchless installer using advanced compression techniques. Last but not least, key is of course not included, if you have your legit key you can add it by modifying the reg files in the 7z archive. Legit key is not required for install, the program will function in trial mode for some days and you can add the key later. Abs11.exe Size: 53.3 MB (55,919,885 bytes) CRC32: 4D13D3B4 MD5: 385D360DA379106B828EFB0ABBF97685 SHA-1: B6AD11493B9E87B7E7CCE04B8CC1C9C2CF318A5E http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?q23mi23lp6l2xxy Cheers!
  20. Update KB2572073 for .Net 2.0 has been released. It does not supersede any previous update. The script will process the update without problems. Cheers.
  21. Can someone re-upload 7zipsplit.exe? Mediafire: Invalid or deleted file You can get it directly from here: http://7zsfx.info/files/7zsd_tools_141_2100.exe Inside you will find some tools, one of them is 7z SFX archive splitter. Edit: KB2539631 for .Net 2.0 SP2 replaces KB2478658. The script will process the update without renaming or anything. Cheers.
  22. Just finished modifying the installer for version 10.0.10.0 As before, here's a new Ashampoo Burning Studio 10 installer that: 1. Does not install the MyAshampoo toolbar 2. Does not autostart IE (or any browser) 3. Does not change default search scope 4. Does not install gadgets 5. Does not autostart Ashampoo Burning Studio after install. Shortcuts will be created for all users. The offending components have been completely removed from the package AND from the script. Default silent switches can be used for Inno (/VERYSILENT /SP-) and it will be completely silent. Last but not least, key is of course not included, if you have your legit key or reg file you can add it with the help of the regfiles from Vkcelik. You can even compress them together as a 7z SFX silent installer so there should be no problem there. Legit key is not required for install, the program will function in trial mode for some days and you can add the key later. ABS10multi.exe 99.09 MB CRC32: 6F8133AA MD5: 252121A2A4438D67280A29AC404428B5 SHA-1: B8BF2D61E994039438C4890EA4E5F574B3172253 http://www.mediafire.com/?9ese1p4jxl4hboo Cheers!
  23. Thanks a lot! In fact I did rename the file but not in that way. Going to give it another try, I could never have known that. Cheers. Edit: Smooth, everything got processed and it also shows in the process data. Only thing is that the output file is smaller despite the size of the now included KB2416447. The update probably overwrites some old files.
  24. I do have a problem with NDP1.1sp1-KB2416447-X86.exe, it seems to be in another format. SNMsynth cannot process it. I get the usual popup that the switches aren't correct. Any ideas are welcome. Cheers.
