i would've done it remotally but it was from school and we have too many firewalls that block it.

i did that to my family one night due to a security policy I "accidently" turned on (laugh) and they were so mad at me. Well, at the time I was the only one with a password and no one else did. I was at school when this happened, my mom tried to logon, wouldn't let her in and then she tried my little bro's and my dad's and it had the same "your account has been disabled message". My mom then called my dad to email me (cause my dad has a computer at work and my mom was locked out of the system, lol) and then when I check my email at school I had an angry email from my parents, lol. I went right home and fixed that, lol. Now they all have passwords

ya! I found that out today cause my dad went to logon from my laptop to the family room computer and that error came up. I have no issue with it though, he just needs a password.

Perhaps HP Canada have a different policy than HP Australia. I've repeatedly tried to get recovery CD's for machines which have these stupid HDD recovery partitions, but have been denied each time. that's odd

that isn't right and I know from experience. I called them due to an "issue" happened to my Hard Drive partition and it won't load or anything. I called them at midnight when I discovered this and I talked to the woman and she must have done a typo because she gave them to me for free when I was supose to have to pay over $30 canadian. It arrived 3 days later from Fedex. It's an 8 disk set with Xp Home on it and everything for my computer so i'm happy, lol. I haven't used them yet though. (O ya, the "issue" that I never told them was that I left my Lindows setup disk in the computer cause i forgot I burnt it and when i restarted my computer and walked away it tried to install it self OVER my recovery partition, lol)
