  1. did you try that literally, or did you change User to the user name you want to delete the temp files of? i have Administrator, All Users, Default User only Default User and Administrator have a temp dir so you might want to try RD /Q /S "%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\" RD /Q /S "%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\Temp\" and that's only if you're using an english xp
  2. -boot d that's for booting from cdrom instead of floppy, as for creating an hd image, you could take a big file and use that, the installer from FreeOS Zoo has an utility to make such files, i'm also attaching it to here. and indeed it seems that it has a limit of 2Gb, but perhaps thats beacuse of fat32 and might make bigger images on ntfs. mkqemuimage.exe
  3. And no, i'm not talking about virtual pc, but a free lil program called QEMU Free OS Zoo QEMU Windows Port it might not be as fast as VMWare albeit it doesnt seem to be much slower, but it's small and FREE as in free beer, and probably most people tinkering with nlite and vmware can get the hang of using QEMU.
  4. To be honest i dont think there's a way to. but what i did with Office 2003 was make a sfx rar file, that gets extracted to HD on a part of my xp install (using xplode), and after the extraction it runs the installation from that folder. Office 2003 compressed went from 600 or so mb, to 270mb, which along with everything i removed with nlite it fit nicely on a cd. But i dont have Office XP to see if it's also as compressable as 2003.

I'm particular to SAV, Symantec Antivirus Corporate 9.x it's the best i've seen.
  6. there are some sample files included, look at those, i think i remember seeing a help file as well.
  7. if you think the problem is with registry tweaks, wouldnt it be easier to try the cd without any tweaks, then make a backup of your registry and try each tweak then?

use internet explorer to open the xml, it will point out errors in the xml syntax, this is what it said with yours. The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- End tag 'copy' does not match the start tag 'item'. Error processing resource 'http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=142213'. Line 135, Position 89 <copy source='%SOURCEPATH%\i386\*.*' target='%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Windows\Options\i386' /></copy> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^ it's either <copy blahblah /> or <copy blahblabh></copy> not sure wich, but it cant be both i think it's the former.
  9. atleast you survived... and wow 9 timezones away.... now that's one hell of an adjustment
  10. the latter is very achievable, i currently have my xp cd install everything aside from the OS (except registry tweaks) from xplode, this includes office 2003, nero, winrar, hotfixes you only need to find out what the arguments to the installs are that makes the application install completely silent, for a good guide for this try unattended.msfn.org , even if you dont want do the full guide they do have a section for installing applications unattended ie silently. hope this helps
  11. you have to pass the winntbbu.dll file as argument to the bbucolor.exe, like so : bbucolor winntbbu.dll and that's all there is to it, it changes the colors accordingly to what's in the bbucolor.ini files. hope that helps.
