  1. use the get explorer working in pe2.0 guide... its in here somewhere
  2. ok this looks like a good idea. i have thrown your beta into a winre image. and all ok. im going to have to rip large chunks of it out because my intention is to use the GUI as a replacement for my visual basic program to recover customers systems. i need to block diskpart from ever touching partition 1. as this stores all of winre and the final installation image. question: is it possible to get a progress bar to run instead of the ugly black box known as command promt? i'll look into it but if you know anything that could help, would be kool. now one suggestion. if an image fails to deploy the ImageX.hta always reports that the image applied ok. could cause problems :/. spose i need to brush up on my scripting skills. but playing with your beta has inspired me to work on this further and give a nice front end for our customers.
  3. ok you've kinda lost me. what exactly are you trying to do here? when you get in PE2.0 what are you trying to do?
  4. i use the winpe.wim for windows DS and boot.wim for UFD's etc.
  5. in all likelyhood its because the Hardware profile on the image does not match that of the virtual machine. have you tried deploying the image back to the laptop?
  6. you cannot modify the registry on an online winpe. it will just wipe out any settings that you have added to it as you may have gathered. the only way to do it is to export the entries and add them to the hives on another machine by loading the relevant hive.
  7. wouldn't it be easier to change the UFD drive letter with diskpart? diskpart sel disk 1 assign letter=K sel disk 0 cre part pri act assign letter=c sel vol c: format fs=ntfs quick exit
  8. heres a copy of mine. maybe you can see what the differences are and work out whats wrong with yours. 9. ok so i have MMC working and expolorer loading with no standard functionality. im looking to get the wifi services to load so that i can test blank systems wifi is working correctly. as for no luck so i thought i'd ask the wonderfull people at MSFN if they have any experince in destroying PE2 to do what they want it to. thanks in advance
  10. I believe thats it is caused by you being as the administrator in audit mode. maybe this is restricting you from removing the programs that the administrator has installed?? just a thought.... also i didn't think you could get rid of the language selection at the begining of a vista install... when its white i know it has detected the autounattend.xml. when installing are you selecting that applies to all users or this account only?
  11. have you tried at the begining of your command file "Start /wait <command line>". otherwise it seems to skip...
  12. Hi, i have been trying to add this driver to my winpe boot cd with no avail. i have tried both the drvinst.exe method and manually adding the files to the disk. also i have ran though the .inf files that i have added and looked for abnormal entries and entries that point to a path not on the cd. has anyone got a clue on how to get this going. it really is driving me nuts! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They who take upon themseleves this task, Good Luck!!
