Sometimes I thought about the idea to offer a HFSLIP-package for others - ready to go. All updates, all other files, but without the original Windows files of cause. Because when somebody (like me) is making a current Windows CD, all files are already on the harddisk - just ZIP it and upload it. And If I read that MS has removed download-pages (I just got a PM with another broken MS-link), a HFSLIP ready-2-go makes just more sense. My idea is to offer a Windows XP-package with all updates in ENU and DEU (that's what I have ). Probably users here could also offer packages for other Windows-versions or XP in other laguages. But I have no idea if MS could see problems when MS-updates are downloadable from other sources. I know that there are update-packages for XP available (not from MS!!) which contain also all MS updates, so it should not be a problem in general. Or is it just stupid nonsense? Any idea appreciated! Mimo

Oh yes, Microsoft removed the download! I have it in DEU and ENU and I will upload these files. Can anybody offer this file - Windows-KB909520-v1.000-x86-XXX.exe - in other languages?

Probably this could help: vorck.zip (snapshot from Sep 2010)

WOW, next update... THX for the info!

Im talked also about MU/WU. An I just tested it (rvkroots.exe in HF) and my result: (see below) Yes, that was also my experience I just made. Under HKLM...InstalledComponents I found this updates but under HKLM...Certificates I didn't found it. So, just the Installed-flag will be set but in fact it will not be installed.I just look at your patch!
-
That would be cool. Have you checked the reg-keys also by yourself after installing XP?
-
Hi -X- Where do you found this info? It also installs silently when just running it w/o params. The problem is that the cmd-params doesn't fit for HFSVCPACK_SW1 and HFSVCPACK_SW2. So, for HFSLIP you have to put it to HFSVCPACK!CU, Mimo

Hi jvidal, After reading these comments (1, 2) my understanding about rvkroots.exe was, that it cannot be slipstreamed by HFSLIP. And it doesn't support commandline-switches (necessary for HFSVCPACK_SW1 and HFSVCPACK_SW2) - so the only way is to put it in HFSVCPACK. As far as I know, it's optional (but recommended), so it will not be checked by MU/WU.I hope I made nothing wrong - any comments appreciated!
