There is no need to use either a hacked version or the opk distribution version. no? i read something about accept the eula from dx9. so it is not fullyunattend, so you need that file to install it unattend. so i have choose that way and it works always good. please tell me more about your way, where do you get the file and how do you install the dx9 without replacing with a hacked file on a unattend way without prompting to accept the eula?

i dont know what QNX is, but i am sure i and marty p dont use that it sounds to me he dont have any boot.ini? dont know how it is possible because he use nlite to create a iso.... true marty p?

true.... i think nuhi better could remove that option because it occurs too much problems/questions/topics.... it isnt possible without any problems, and you always still have the need of IE (for example windowsupdate)....

when do you get a black screen? i am sure it is not a problem of uxtheme.dl_ why do u use vmware AND viritualpc? dont them conflict with each other? you known you first have to fill in the iso at the startup to let vmware known where the iso are on the HDD? i believe viritualpc cant this. or do u use CD/DVD? try to create a new profile in vmware and delete the old one. try also to delete viritualpc because vmware is far the best.....

i guess because no one can install orginal dx9 silenty, the only way is to put a hacked file to install it silenty, but SFC must be disabled otherwise SFC will notice youre install a hacked version. at the end of the unattend install you can reenable SFC again.....

sometimes it is hopeless, u need to format.... put all on rewrite cd and or on other harddisk/computer before u format....

why no one talks about kaspersky antivirus (and include in poll)? in several test you will see kaspersky find more than norton can and kaspersky always be more faster with update their virusdirectory when a virus breaks out.....

i have downloaded and installed the SP1a and the winver stay the same so i have SP1a (i was not sure if i have SP1 or the SP1a) Versie 5.1 (build 2600 xpsp1.020828-1920: Service Pack 1) and after windows update i have Versie 5.1 (build 2600 xpsp2.030422-1633: Service Pack 1) i simply dont have time to update because the uxtheme error stays, and now it is fixed (i think)

the first is from a classic view which i have choosen op pc2 yes. i dont have removed any critical (which is colored red in nlite). in second pic u see a blue titlebalk above the config window, that is a part of sentinel also startmenu is and go so on. i also dont use massive regtweaks. but ermmm.... i have read something about difference uxtheme by difference SP2. how i could see which uxtheme i needed? maybe i have the wrong uxtheme (again)?

i am not sure if u understand me, all windows are themed bij sentinel and works good. except the config window... see the pic that theme i dont have created by myself, it was ready to use and i downloaded at www.themexp.org please note the first image-example is from my second pc. the second image u see what i missed, and what is working good.

ok, it is fixed now. but what was the problem? i have do so many things as if uncheck the box in nlite "disable SPC" because i already have a regtweak. i also ripped out the SFCQUOTA in winnt.sif. i also have created a new uxtheme.dl_ i also put a new clean i386 and shrink it again with nlite. but i am happy it works again, thanks alanoll for your support through PM and this topic..... i give you an extra star, supersupermoderator. edit: i was too early with my smile, config window stay classic, so there is another problem.....? also it is not a problem created by one of my regtweaks because i use it too on the another pc (which i use the orginal xp) and i am able to switch config window to classic and backwards... so the problem could be: nlite ripped too much or the uxtheme.dll is not working properly again.....? this time i dont get any errors with uxtheme during setup.

it is hard to believe for me but the problems grows with the hours... alanoll have explain me about a uxtheme.dl_ to place it in the i386, i have do that and create a cd with nlite and now i get a error during setup: could not copy uxtheme.dll, retry, abort, ignore? my last change were added some regtweaks to enable quicklaunch(right from startbutton) as [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Defaults] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Desktop] i have removed the 3 keys and that wont help. i also added a key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced] and i have shrink this keys to 6 lines which are important for me and that also wont help and also added winamp5(from alanoll and extrememac) +dutchlanguagepack to my unattendcd. also remove my i386 map and place a clean orginal i386 and shrink it again with the newest nlite 0.97b i dont have removed whatever what was red line, only some green things as if cameradriver, infrareddriver and and and... also place a new k-lite version and a new nero version. i am very sure i dont have changed what ever on the uxtheme.dll and the command lines to copy the uxtheme.....

i also read that about firefox and also have the same idea as you to try firefox. i also have the same problem as you; i cant login at MCN(lookalike of MSNchatrooms) and also cant login some pages what need a sort of plugin as for example macroflashplayer (i am not sure about that name) what will show a flash movie. i installed it 3 times and it dont work with firefox so i returned back to explorer. i dont like switch between browser because the one remember a setting, a url or a password for a site and the other i have to fill it again and backwards is the same. i also try opera and that was really heavy, firefox is really better and userfriendly than opera is.

but i never have change what ever on that theme. i have used it many and many times by all of my inattend installs. i have replaced the uxtheme with a new downloaded uxtheme and the problem stays. i will removed the sfcdisable in winnt.sif could it be a bad regtweak? it is not possible because i dont have any tweaks about that..... and ermmm..... what do u meaning i have eleminated the map dllcache? and if the problem is the uxtheme.dll, why is my config window classical?

i have use a theme called sentinel and it always works fine. now it dont work anymore. yes i have put it in \Resources\Themes\Sentinel_Blue2.theme and in winnt.sif this [Shell] CustomDefaultThemeFile="%Systemroot%\Resources\Themes\Sentinel_Blue2.theme also use this in regtweaks.reg ;Disable Windows File Protection for using unofficial themes [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "SFCDisable"=dword:FFFFFF9D i am very sure i dont change whatever of both things, but what it could be is a bad regtweak or nlite have ripped too much out of my cd. i have a clean i386 placed in the unattend cd. i have minimized my regtweaks and ripped out the exprimental regkeys and the problem stays. rightclick on background>theme i see my theme is there. when i click on it, the background change to the theme background but my startmenu and configuration windows and explorer stays classical. i also use a new thing to my winnt.sif and at VMWare it works fine [SystemFileProtection] SFCQuota=0 SFCScan=0 SFCDisable=ffffff9d who recognized this problem?
