  1. Did you have any luck with this issue? I'm having the same problem with a Windows 7 image using WAIK (Win 7) on Windows Server 2003 (x86).
  2. Tried that but it's still the same. I think it's something that has to be turned on but I can't find anything in the help files or on the net.
  3. I'm using office 2000 and have noticed that when I click on the open button to open a file I don't see the 'tools' button that I have seen on other installs of Office 2000. Anyone how to enable this as it can be quite usefull for searching for Words docs.
  4. Yes, I want to see the hardware wizard popup when I plug in the usb device but nothing happens. I found an article on delting past USB devices from the registry but still nothing happens.
  5. Thanks for the reply. I have already deleted the device from device manager which is why I'm a bit stumped. I doubt there is any firmware for the device so i'm really looking for a Windows solution. Are there any registry entires that could be deleted?
  6. It was a power cut. When I rebooted the machine it showed up in device manager as a ghost device and I removed it from there.
  7. I recently installed a USB infra-red device on my pc. During the driver installation there was a crash and I had to uninstall the device by removing it from the hardware profile. Now when I plug the usb device in to reinstall it isn't picked up by Windows. I've checked that the device is still working. Anyone know why windows won't pick the device? 8. Not sure but you could also try adding NO LOGON permission as well.
  9. Ok this is getting a bit strange. I ran my shutdown scheduled task having disabled my Anti-Virus and this time it shut down but restarted. The command run was D:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -s -f which shouldn't make it restart. edit: It's happened again. I think I might have a look at my BIOS settings to see if anything might be happening there.
  10. This has been happening for about a week but because I don't usually have the PC hooked up to a monitor (I use Remote Desktop) I have only witnessed what was happening once. The shutdown warning message appears giving 30 seconds before shutdown then all the apps start to close and it goes to a blank blue screen (I would presume explorer.exe has ended at this point) but doesn't do anything after this. From the event log it shows service trying to restart some successfull some not. Already tried UPHclean, thought it had done the trick at first but ended with the same result. I'll try turning off the Anti-Virus and test it now.
  11. No, I have even setup a batch script to stop the VirtualServer service before shutdown.
  12. I have a test machine running Windows Server 2003 (with AD, Exchange and SQl Server) that is setup to shutdown at night. Ever since I installed Virtual Server 2005 R2 the machine won't shut down. Looking at the event viewer doesn't tell me much but it does show that after the services are shut down they try to restart again. Anyone know why this might be happening?
  13. Does anyone know the name of an addon for Windows 2000 that could capture an install and turn it into an MSI file? Also where do I get it from?
  14. Yes it is possible to integrate SCSI drivers, take a look at this forum - http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=88 or go directly to Bashrat's page - http://www.driverpacks.net/
  15. First thing is to check for is .pst files. These are files that store all your mail. Do a serach of your hard disk looking for *.pst. It could be that you are using a different mail profile, go to start > settings > control panel and click on the mail icon. See if there are any profiles in there.
