For some reason my **** start menu doesnt remember any of my settings, after restart it goes back to default settings (placement, autohide, show clock, etc) any ideas how to fix this?

to go off what Aaron said... get the klite mega codec pack. it has bsplayer, media player classic, real player and quicktime plugins (so media player classic can play quicktime and real player files) and just about every codec you can think of! get it here

umm actually that is correct, im running server 2003 standard and i have it turned on... just like catwalker63 said: tools> folder options> enable web content then you will see the file preview and everything else just like in 2000 and XP

ok first off, i realize this is going to make me look like an id***.... basically, i have 2 computers running windows server 2003 standard (mine and my dad's) but im having a bit of a hard time networking them together, i cant acces one computer from another. i had this all working with 2000, so i know its just some extra settings in 2003 that i have no clue how to configure. so basically i need to know how to set the computers up to be able to access one from another, share folders and files, and share a printer. we are both on the same workgroup, we can both see each other in the network places, and can even see shared folders.... just cant get into them, tried setting up the permissions on the folders but it doesnt do anything any help here is greatly appreciated, seeing as i dont have much experience with server OS's thanks *EDIT* i found a support file on the microsoft website... but theres still a problem, where it says: To set permissions for a user or group that is not listed in the Group or user names box, click Add. In the Select Users or Groups dialog box that appears, type the names of the users or groups that you want to set permissions for (for example, Accounting, Sales, and Amy Alberts). Click OK. thats great and all.... but for some reason i can only add users from MY computer, i cant look on the network or my dads computer to add users, so this must be my problem, any clue how to solve it?

so how exactly do i go about making an unattended install cd for server 2003? i have found tons of info for doing this on xp, not much luck for 2003. any info is much appreciated.

i havent tried out diskeeper yet. but O&O defrag is great, runs in the background, doesnt slow down my system at all, lots of options. id recommend O&O

im running symantec antivirus corporate v8.1 with norton internet security 2003 pro, they both work great and dont cause any wierd errors like some other programs do on server 2003. so far norton antivirus 2003 and 2004 will just not install, and norton internet security 2004 didnt work right at all, hope this helps.

when i tried to install msn messenger on win server 2k3 it gave me the same troubles, i believe what i did is download the version for windows 2000..... viola! works fine. hope this helps.
