Hey everybody! somebody who knows the component name for Windows Movie Maker and Netmeeting to but in the winnt.sif so that the installer does not install it?

i have strange problem with my unattended xp cd. When i install the windows xp unattended the result is that i get a account named Administrator, inspite the fact that i wrote my name in winnt.sif. Hey Guys! I was wondering if anyone of you know how to find out a registry tweak for yourself without having to ask someone the command and by that i mean like if you want internet explorer to start with a blank screen instead of a page. How do i find out which registry tweak i should use?? ok maybe this tweak is usual and people already know the solution to it but i think you know what i mean. What do i have to use to come up with these different kind of tweaks? Anyone?

i tried it out guys and the first thing you wrote was right, it was the length of the path. I did a quote at the end of the path but the problem stil remained. Then i shortened the names of the folders and it all went fine. thx again.

find out which type of installer package the game installation uses and use that switches. If the program uses installa shield then you could use wininstaller to edit the *.msi file and make it install silently without any need of switches. hope this will solve your troubles.

greetings to you all! i'm almost finished with my unattended cd but i wanted this time to integrate the drivers on my disk so i used the oempnp.... and put my files in the right order and folders as sid on but it didn't help. When i burned the image to a disk and try to boot with it it says "Line 18 of the inf file \i386\winnt.sif is invalid" and setup exits. and another thing about the install shield...i just don't understand it ...that -s switch never works for me..no matter what i do it always does a normal installation if i use it. I start by running the program with the -r switch to create the *.iss file and after that i put it in the same directory as the program but still it refuses to work. What am i doing wrong??

greetings! Does anyone know how to unattend the installation of ATI catalyst drivers? i've viewed a topic a previously found on the forum but the it didn't get any good answer so i thought that maybe now someone knows. I've used many switches and none of them works it either starts the installation and asks me to install like a normal installation or says that the class is not registered or something like that. The last time i tried it just stands still and does nothing. I'm currently using -s switch and /REBOOT=SUPPRESS. Anyone that knows what's wrong? plz help then.

yeah well you could use a program like Symantec AI snapshot or whatever other program you like...they basically do the same thing they make a snapshot of the HDD current condition and then when you have installed the chosen program it automatically sees what have changed on the drive and then you can create a install package from it. check the this page for more info : http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/applications.htm Hope this helps!

now the only thing that is left is the recycle bin..i know i'm repeating myself but noone seems to have the answer for it..anyone who knows how to empty the recycle bin?

and another thing...does anyone know how to delete certain files inside a directory if i don't know what they are called but i want the folder to be emptied...like windows prefetch folder i want it to be emptied but i don't know what all the files are called...is there a way to delete them without knowing their name?

hey guys! now that i finished my batch file i wanted to clean up the computer a little bit so that the unnecessary files that were copied to the computer during the installation will be deleted. the command for deleting a folder or a file is "del" right? besides that i also want it maybe to empty the recycle bin..maybe it's not necessary for the installation but it would be good to know the command. Does anyone know the command to empty the recycle bin?
