  2. That's strange...I'm not able to connect either and I'm on PurpleWire...It was working fine before...
  3. It better not be in Chinese like build 263, lol!
  4. Is it going to be a new build?
  5. Glad it works for you!!
  6. I got all the ones I wanted...Now all I need (if it exists) is a registry hack for adjusting the screen resolution and hiding and showing the quick launch bar, if possible...
  7. I think my Windows 2000 CD is corrupt, cuz it wouldn't copy all of the files...
  8. Guys, I need to know the location IN THE REGISTRY of where I can pick how I want my Start Menu and Desktop customized...Like, in the start menu, the number of icons, big or small, on the desktop, if I want the My computer icon or not, etc....Anyone know where these can be found?
  9. Well, I now know what I'm doing tomorrow! REFORMAT! w00t
  10. Guys, just some advice...DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, INSTALL OFFICE 4.2 IN WINDOWS XP! I just did it on a PC that I did a fresh install on Friday and it won't let me access any of XP's files...It boots up, I can log in, but it doesn't open up EXPLORER.EXE or any other program that I try to run... BTW, I CAN'T EVEN DO A SYSTEM RESTORE! w00t So please learn from me and don't install 10 year old programs on a newer machine! w00t w00t
  11. I've had that bookmarked for a while!
  12. Maybe when I get a cheap computer to play with...
  13. I also heard that Windows 98 has to be on the first 8GBs of the drive, so, screw that idea...So Windows 2000 setup is almost the same as XP, except I have to replace its MBR with XP's MBR? I've never seen a boot repair option on the XP CD...Can't I just use the fdisk /mbr command from a Win98 boot disk, or will that just screw it up? Edit: I found the website that tells you how to properly do the 2000/XP multi-boot...: http://www.theeldergeek.com/add_w2k_to_xp_...nstallation.htm
  14. Aaron, do I have to install MS-DOS first? I tried installing it with a Win 98 boot disk, but I couldn't boot into the OS...
  15. I like it!
  16. Yea, I just realized that by using Google ...How about Windows 2000? I think it does the same way, but it does less "damage"...
  17. Is it possible to install Windows 98 on the same drive, but on a different partition after Windows XP has been installed? Can someone post a guide or something?
  18. Heh...Two of my computers are always on...On one of them, I have two drives, and when the power goes off nothing happens to them... The funny thing is, you know how some monitors go ON after the power is restored? Imagine that happening while you're asleep! That can be your alarm clock! It woke me up twice... rstryker, what kind of data did you have on that drive?
  19. Wow! Works great! Thanks MSNwar!
  20. No...For example, a site that might stay might be like http://www.MSFN.org/board/index.php?act=Po...=6738&p=44496... Dunno why it won't go away!
  21. I see those BSoD's in American airports all the time! (Newark) sedative, you ever been there? w00t
  22. No matter how I clear my history, through Internet Options, or by manually deleting, I cannot get some sites to go away. When I put in, for example, astromike.com in the address bar after clearing history and deleting cookies and internet files, I get the entries that I've to, such as astromike.com/board, astromike.com/upload/uploads, etc...How can I get rid of these entries for good?
  23. Thanks Doggie! This is very useful to have around!
  24. Hmmm...Not exactly what I was looking for...Anyone else know how to have Windows 3.1 on the first partition and Windows 98 on the second?
  25. Hey! Welcome to MSFN! For an avatar, I would just look on Google for something and then just Photoshop the image!
