  3. I have used unattended inst. CD with SP 2 and program install with $1 in $oem$ folder. Now I will make a new one with SP3. But at the same time I would like to ask you guys if it's possible in the start of running the unattended CD, to get a box where I can choose which programs in the $1 folder that has to be installed. As it's now all programs in $1 will be installed. But sometimes I would like just some of the programs to be installed. Is there a way to do that? A check box to choose what program to install or something else?
  4. Thanks smiley... I can't try it before next week. But i will give back an answer how it went out :-)
  5. Thanks...I will take a look at it :-)
  6. Thanks... I think that the easy way is to make a floppy that can boot the image from the USB disk. Or a boot CD that can get the image from the usb disk. But I can't find any instructions on that in the symantec support. I found this: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/sunse...3e?OpenDocument But a "how to do" instruction would help me a lot... My problem is that I'm not very good in DOS mode :-) Iceman: What you say is..... Make a boot CD incl. ghost.exe When I boot on this CD it will aut. find my ghost image on the USB disk or do I have to make some dos commands in a prompt... ?? Maybe I can get you to write down how I make this boot CD so that it can get my image file from the USB disk ??
  7. I have a ghost image of my pc. It's size is 6 GB. It's stored on my USB disk. Now my pc is gone down and I would like to reinstall with my norton ghost image file. I can't boot from the usb drive, so I made a quick XP install on the pc and installed Norton Ghost. In norton ghost i choose restore a drive. But I get an error that says I can't restore C drive because windows is running. Can I do it another way or how can I install this image back??
  8. Yes i did. I had to make a D partition before installing.. And iceman has answer your other question :-))
  9. Okay. Thanks.. temp is on D: so it's not that..
  10. Okay...thanks. I will just install outlook express and set it up to my gmail. In the "send to" cases, I will use express as sender and only there.. Thanks for all..
  11. I have just installed XP with my unattended installation. Win XP, office 2003 and office profing tools. Nero burning and about 10 other programs document and settings has a size of 3 GB but is placed on the partition D: But why does it need 8 GB on my C drive for windows and thoose few programs????? Is that normal?
  12. Hmm... I have gmail notifier. If I click on a email link it will open my gmail new mail. But right click on a picture and use send to > email reciepient will open the outlook that I don't use. Gosh: Do you think that if I delete the sendmail.dll file then the gmail notifier can do the "send to > email reciepient" ? Spacesurfer: I know that I can use outlook. But I try not to :-)
  13. I use send to mail reciepient when I send pictures. right click on picture send to > mail reciepient when i used Eudora and outlook a new mail was opening But now I use Gmail. Is'nt it possible to set gmail up to be the program where the new mail is opening in? It works when I click a mail link. There it's gmail new mail that opens. I think thats because installation of gmail notifier.
  14. I have maked a backup of my cookie folder. I reinstall my laptop and put the cookie back into my user folder. I owerwrite the empty new cookie folder. It says to me that I can't overwrite the index file, because a user section is open. I click ok to that. All my "old" cookies is in the folder. But when I then go to this or other forums, they can't remember my passwords as they could before. Is'nt that stored in the cookies? Colud it be the missing index file? or is my user the wrong place? Should it be all users? My user is the ADM account. It's the only user I have and the one i Use.
  15. Year... I can see your wrote it earlier.. sorry.. So there is no way to make a fulle unattended installation, that create a C drive and another drive, and then install somme of the installation on the other drive?
  16. I have found something about it here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=55052 But i don't understand what to do. Does the D drive have to be formatted or just an unformatted D partition? Maybe someone could check my attached winnt.sif file??? WINNT.SIF
  17. I have made some changes in my sif file. After this I get an error under my installation. It says something about that winnt.sif does not match my answer file where keyboard is set to DANISH... The installation will be aborted. I will try to get the exact error again... But has this two files anything to do with each other??? I have made changes to my sif file before without any problem...
  18. In my sif file i have set document and settings to be on the other half of my disk called d-drive. But under installation the drive letter have changed i think. Can i tell the installation to install document and settings on the other drive part without give it a letter??? Or tell that it has to be all other drives than C drive?
  19. Thanks for a nice explanation. I know what % means... Thanks...
  20. sounds I have found here http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=24195 But what about all other things I would like to change from default. Ex. get the calculator in start menu and a lot og other things. Is there some place to find this winnt.sif "extras" or reg tweaks "extras"???
  21. Okay...are you sure? So no way to make a D drive when I run a unattended installation on a empty disk? But no problem. I have a formatted C and a D drive now. Så I just need to run the installation, and format the C drive. D is formatted and is empty... I will do it tomorrow... Thanks
  22. Thanks for helping I will take a look at it... In the unattended installation the D drive is formatted before installation of the user. Is'nt that right when I use use Repartition=no and AutoPartition=0
  23. I surpose that I in the winnt.sif file can set it up to d:\document and settings or D:\user?
