Strel: found a bug with latest snmsynth (20091104b) Everything went fine (paint .net 3.5 beta runs fine) until i test the uninstallation of the frameworks: installed @T-13 When uninstalling .net 3.5sp1, i have the following dialog appearing: in english the component your trying to use is on a network resource non available attached the log. If i don't want to install outdated vc++ runtimes with dotnet (like the YumeYao one) wich parameters should i change in snmsynth.ini ?

XP doesn't need any .net framework to run (except media center version) i suggest you to install only 3.5 (who install 3.0 and 2.0 anyway), there are addons and addons maker here and at ryanvm. .net 1.1 is offered on win update but not needed by any recent program, they have switched to later versions.

You can safely remove it completely, win update and firewall can be set up in control panel. Not at all, only very few programs use this version (like media center 2005). Use 3.5sp1 instead (also contains .net 2.0 and 3.0) nLite does not overwrite the file , it patches it at some know offset. i use an update pack with latest KB from MS and always did the tcp/ip ptach with nLite with no problems. Don't have the answer to your last question.

When i run the installer at T-13, i have 6 log files left at the root of my system drive (see pic) is this normal ? i think previous versions didn't do that. I have used 20090913_SNMsynth. installed all frameworks (except 1.1 ) and french langpacks in merged installer.

+1 right click on the iso file -> Burn with ImgBurn and voila ! Alternatively i use UltraIso to build the iso image. Not freeware but a lot af options.

Strel: Do i need to add KB963707 in the folder of SNMSynth or the fix is included in KB963707FIX.mst ?

Strel, if i want to install the update from .net framework asssitant in firefox (KB963707) wich option should i use in _snmsynth.ini ? I don't understand what the default option do, avoids the update showing in MU by adding some keys, or integrate KB963707 into snmsynth installation ?

use UltraIso to build /update your image.

You have certainly one (or more ) addon that mess up the install process. You have to do some investigation! a method: Try building an other iso (fresh source, as always) with only some (lioke the half) of your addons, then test it in a virtual machine. if the install goes fine it's one of the others....if not it's one of those..... then try to add (or remove ) more addons (only one or two at the same time) until the install break (or work) again Tip: it's most likely an inf addon that cause the mess.

Yes, rebuild the addon with your ini and language files.

Strel, I have forgotten to say that i have replaced four files with newer ones : (KB959206 ) It's the only modification to the installer created by SNMsynth. Tried with the new NETWUFIXES.mst, installed on live system, same error showing when uninstalling .net30 langpack FRA the copy of the error in event viewer: Edit: now the error is also showing when trying to uninstall langpack for .net2 and langpack for .net3.5

Hi OuTmAn, I am logged as admin, yes TCP/IP netbios helper is set on auto and running The install is brand new with all hotfixes up to date,so logically windows installer isn't broken but i will try your advice anyway.
