File is uploaded and ready to be downloaded. It's limited to 100 downloads per day, but I think that shouldn't be a problem. You can find it here. Thanks again Gnome for this wonderfull utility. And I'm glad that I can "contribute" in a way finally as well .

I resolved this by putting calling a sleep for 30 seconds. It seems that the installer calls for another installer, while closing the first one, making RunOnceEx think that the original one is done, and thus continuing on. Add this command and you're done: REG ADD %KEY%\### /V 2 /D "sleep.exe 30" /f" (### standing for the correct numbers, of course.) Also don't forget that you should have sleep.exe in your windows\system32 folder.

If using RyanVM's update-pack we still need the WMP9-less files, right? (Assuming this since it's based on Bashrat's pack).

I don't agree with you on that one. An administrative install might have the advantage that you can slipstream office updates into it, but you are not able to use Office Update for some updates when you have the cd. (I speak from experience). Therefore, I started this thread, to see whether Local Caching was possible in an administrative install. To make a long story short, I now use ohotfix.exe to install my updates after Office is installed and it saved me more than 1GB(!) on my unattended DVD (this includes: Office 2003 Pro, Proofing Tools and OneNote). Furthermore, I am now able to update my Office without having to take my Office CD's with me.

Program to change "user" values
Ben.Hahlen replied to Ben.Hahlen's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
No-one knows? -
Hey everyone, In my quest to create the "ultimate universal" XP DVD, I was wondering if a program exists that allows me to change OwnerName, Organization, Computername, Workgroup, Administrator password during setup and also create a Username and Password to use at first logon to install programs. The reason I don't want to use winnt.sif for this, is that some computers, for instance my laptop, don't have a disk-drive, so that puts a restraint on the usage of winnt.sif. So basically, the winnt.sif would contain some temporary values, and when running windows setup, a program runs at cmdlines.txt that allows me (or someone else) to input other values for it. The idea behind this is, as I said, that the DVD is a "universal" one, so that I could just run over to someone to reinstall, put in the DVD, change their Ownername, Computername, Organization, Workgroup, Administrator Password, then create the user(s) they need, the first one being the one which will log on at first logon, select the programs that need to be installed, resume and come back after two hours when everything is done. When someone asks me to reinstall now, I change the things they want (including RunOnceEx values for software) create the ISO, test it, (if required: make changes and test again,) burn it and install. I hope it is clear what I am looking for, and I hope someone can give me the "golden" tip that leads me to a program that can do this. Thanks in advance,

Reassigning drive letters automatically
Ben.Hahlen replied to mdes's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Sorry for kicking this topic, but there's something that I would like to know. Suppose I have a computer with a DVD+RW and a DVD-ROM. If I create a file "DVD.e" in the root of my system-drive, the program sets both the DVD+RW and the DVD-ROM to E:\. If I create a second file "DVD.f" it sets them both to F:\. Is there any way I can avoid this? PS: I also get this error when testing: Environment variable TMP_OLD_CDR_VOLUME- not defined Anyone knows why? -
New Option for Installing Applications - W.A.I.T.
Ben.Hahlen replied to bryanh's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
The reason that I'm using WAIT from cmdlines.txt, is that I would like to be able to "leave" my computer to it as much as possible. Pretty much the same reason -I- gave. If you would be able to implement the requests I've made, I think I'll love you forever -
New Option for Installing Applications - W.A.I.T.
Ben.Hahlen replied to bryanh's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Just found another bug (Thread at WAIT forums): WAIT adds the keys for RunOnceEx as the "folder" 000x (don't know what it's called in the registry) and then a key 000x with the command to run. The problem is that somehow, Windows doesn't accept the FOUR digits, but it DOES accept THREE digits. Would you be able to change that? (I don't believe anyhow that anyone would have more than 999 programs to be installed...). Thanks in advance. -
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the thread for the Driverpack Graphics B?? Some copying and pasting BTS?

New Option for Installing Applications - W.A.I.T.
Ben.Hahlen replied to bryanh's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Anyone for these? I've tried to run from cmdlines.txt and that's the part that works, but it doesn't install any programs... Furthermore, I've posted a few requests and a (possible) bug on the WAIT forums. Thanks in advance. -
New Option for Installing Applications - W.A.I.T.

Could someone explain to me how to use W.A.I.T. from cmdlines.txt? This seems my "perfect" way of installing. And is there some kind of "setup-guide"? -
Yeah, sorry, missed the sig Now only need to find some screenies...
-
Eh... W.A.I.T? Where can I find W.A.I.T? And a floppy is not really an option, since I also use my DVD on laptops which don't have a floppy drive...

Another thing I would like to know is when WPI and WIHU run?
-
The thing is: I don't have a server. And I will also use this for friends/family, so basically I just leave the "ProductKey", "Username", and "Computername" open in the winnt.sif (would that work?). The queston still stands though: Which method to use?
-
Hello everyone, I am currently using multiple RunOnceEx files to install my programs. Since I also would like to use my UaDVD on other computers, I am now looking for a program that is more "customizable", so that I can give in computer/user-names without having to change the winnt.sif everytime. I also need the ability to select the programs to be installed. I am now doubting between WPI and WIHU. I would like some suggestions on which method to use, with pro's and cons. The list of programs that are being installed: Utilities: - Adobe Reader 7 - Nero Burning ROM 6.6.0.12 - WinRAR 3.30 - Daemon Tools 3.47 Multimedia: - WinAMP 5.08e - The Codecs 2.8 - Tag & Rename 3.1.7 - Quicktime 6.5.1 - RealPlayer 10 Gold Internet: - MSN Messenger 7.0.0777 - Messenger Plus 3.52.130 - Sun Java JRE 5.0.2 - DC++ 0.674 - Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 - FireFox 1.0.3 - Mozbackup 1.4 - Skype 1.2.0.48 System Utils: - TweakUI Powertoy - Everest Home Edition 1.51 - Hitman Pro 2.0.12 - .NET Framework 1.1 + SP1 - ZoneAlarm Security Suite - TuneUp Utilities 2004 - TuneXP 1.5 - Diskeeper 9.0.524 Office: - MS Office 2003 Professional - MS Office 2003 Proofing Tools - MS One Note 2003 - Office Servicepacks and updates - Personal Folders Backup for Outlook - Office Resource Kit Thanks in advance.

I can't even download them I can download them again

Ok, the syntax for ZA Security Suite (Tried and tested a lot of times): REG ADD %KEY%\006 /VE /D "ZoneAlarm Security Suite" /f REG ADD %KEY%\006 /V 1 /D "%INSPATH%\006_zone_alarm\za_suite_setup.exe /s /i /noreboot /lickey XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX %INSPATH%\006_zone_alarm\settings.xml" /f It's in RunOnceEx, the %INSPATH% is a variable I created myself. Note: Don't use the "-" from the licensekey.
-
If you are using FireFox: Open the page in IE and try downloading it through IE, that did the trick for me.
-
Now it just outputs to the screen, not having the ability to download the file... :S

Download link for Driverpack B is not working anymore. Times out

How do I defrag and chkdsk at startup sequential?
Ben.Hahlen replied to bucketbuster's topic in Windows XP
I have just downloaded this program, as I thought it to be the perfect addition to my unattended DVD. The problem is that my Virtual Machine now is stuck in an infinite loop... Could this be because I changed the hardcoded windows folder to %windir%? Yup, changing the hardcoded to variables was the problem. It's going along nicely now in VMWare
