  1. Replace HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-861567501-448539723-839522115-500 with HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  2. I use Winbom.ini (sysprep factory preinstallation) but I only use one Wimbom.ini. I install all my apps, hotfixes, and do cleanup at the end. One major problem I have with it is that the digital signatures for the drivers are lost ... XP thinks my video/NIC driver is not digitally signed
  3. I heard that if you CALL them you can get any hotfix you want, they don't even check your PID's or anything like that.
  4. I noticed something on my school computers and that is that most of the Windows system files are all uppercase! How would that happen?
  5. Hello. I use Sysprep factory mode to install my applications and such in Windows XP. However, there is one problem and that is that the digital signature for my NIC card driver and the ATI Catalyst suite is lost. When sysprep is done and I finish up OOBE, it says the drivers are not digitally signed. I've tried EVERYTHING to try fix this, but no luck. I've tried all funky things like making Sysprep redetect and reinstall drivers, use an answer file to specify an OemPnPDriverPath string, etc. and they don't work. Help!
  6. Yes it is possible. It's very similar to the way you make XP unattended install.
  7. If you customized your Internet Explorer 6 SP1 installer file so that it updates system files even though the first person logging in after reboot is a restricted user, a Windows Installer MSI file is launched and then configures the Internet Explorer components. This MSI file leaves an entry in Add/Remove Programs called "IE5 Registration".
  8. The only thing you need to worry about is that you cannot install IE6SP1 and its hotfixes at one shot. You must install them separately.
  9. how do you reset the arrangement of the desktop icons? The icons during preinstallation do not show up alphabetically and then XP actually saves that order of icons and it's messed up when you get to the desktop on next reboot
  10. I guess not, but it is released. And since it uses the dahotfix.exe as the bootstrapper I'd guess that the /q /n switch would work fine with it. But, note that I didn't test that ...
  11. How do I delete the C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator folder on reboot? The reghack I have only renames it, and for some weird reason importing RunOnce entries after sysprep has completed DOES NOT WORK. This is XP FYI.
  12. I have no idea WTF my XP unattended install is doing but 50% of the hotfixes are installed improperly? Any ideas? I use the whole SYSPREP\WINBOM.INI stuff and install hotfixes at factory (logged in as Admin) HELP? Should I try to install every single thing during CMDLINES.TXT crap execution thingamaihinvn1ngbndfuobgtuo4bur? ALSO!!! How do I make Windows XP run a batch file after SYSPREP reseals everything?
  13. i built some scripts to automatically install hotfixes and ran them not in unattended install mode, but in regular mode to check that it runs properly. one hotfix crashed, and this triggered the crashing of 10 other hotfix installers. i install them manually and it is ok. should i be worried?
  14. Does it have OPK's for WMP9 Win2000 edition in there? I know there is one on the unattended site but I have no clue if it is XP specific or not.
