  1. Yep thats true, so just gonna confirm it
  2. none, i've used vlite to remove WD but i normally keep it. Just ran vlite again and reintegrated all the hotfixes, worked fast again so must of been a one off.
  3. i think perhaps its not best to add this function in vlite, when "Atsiv" was released M$ was not happy at all about it and it did'nt even last 1 day lol. So if vLite had this ability to disable driver signing then microsoft might try to close down vlite.
  4. hotfix integration works fine for me, but it took hours (3 hours) to integrate 97 hotifxes when it normally takes much much less than that (20-30mins) and nothing else was open.
  5. your designs look really nice and professional
  6. I always lock mine and have screensaver password incase i forget to lock it. Don'y like people being nosey lol
  7. try run as administrator
  8. Grrr lol, i don't think you understood so ill repeat it they are not duplicated, if you rebuilt the image (i.e. run vlite after you unmounted and commit changes, then just rebuild without doing anything (Rebuild not apply method)) it will be smaller, WIMs amongst over image types don't shrink in size even if you delete half the stuff inside them and have to use 'Save As' method mostly. But on WIMs, the image has to be rebuilt. What im saying is after the "Mount the image with imagex.exe Remove files from "Windows\winsxs\Backup" Unmount the WIM image" Open vlite again (after) and just click apply > Rebuild method and it should shrink. That's the easiest way.

  10. SP1 beta only shaved around 2-3 secs off it lol
  11. Yep Vista x64 Ultimate SP1 Beta with all x64 updates.. Works like a dream much better than without SP1 Beta. what you mean by 'Any Suggestions on this method?' do you mean a suggestion of how to integrate it, how to use vlite on it, etc...?
  12. 25-30 secs, using vlite with sp1 beta and all x64 hotfixes integrated.
  13. i've updated the error codes in the first post, that specific one is just click try again (also try restarting if that doesn't work)
  14. Can you please add a button or something which will remove the yellow ones from the list? I integrate 350+ hotfixes and takes ages to remove them all manually as 10-15 were not yellow.

    Hotfix Hunt

How many hotfixes are in your pack?
  16. hmm, how about merging install.wim's. So if i rebuilt 2 versions of vista and then wanted them on one disk instead of too.
  17. there are links on google just type ins something like "Vista vs XP Gaming". heres one for you: http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/01/29/xp-...4.html#3d_games but vista has come along way since they posted that (jan 29th), updates, etc..
  18. Microsoft Download Center
  19. Up until "Vista its just perfectly tuned" you took the words right out of my mouth, i dont play CSS to comment on the rest. I like the "Game Mode" and "Home Office" idea. You can actually acheive this by creating your own program where you press a button and the services you specificy will be disabled and registry tweaks activated if you use any (Gamer Mode) and then after you press another button and everything will be enabled again (Home Office Mode) but shame microsoft don't have it built in or something equivalent.
  20. this post was just for users with 800F081F Stop Windows Update Service, delete C:\Windows\Software Distribution Folder (the whole thing), restart windows update service and recheck for updates. This is not a vlite issue
  21. Well my graphics cards are both DX10 (SLI) and vista can use DX10 but yes putting that aside and talk about DX9 Games. I don't know what is it is but when playing games on vista my games feel alot smoother n i think my games look a tiny bit better but just noticable (for me anyways), i don't use parental controls and didnt use Game Explorer (but thats not something special). I just cant put my finger on it but i do notice a difference and for some reason on vista i can put my games on a higher setting. An advantage the look n feel of vista as XP to me is abit... plain lol. But in general for me games work better on Vista and i do notice a difference and to be honest and don't look/care about framerates and just play the game. Lego
  22. hmm, SP1 Final might come with a more sophisticated setup, because some hotifxes when trying to install one says its not needed for you computer, the sophisted setup might do the same to some hotfixes, but that i seriously doubt that will happen, anyways lets just wait for final to be released then again its the only option we have.... Liam
  23. Try selecting a few updates (4-6) at a time which will help narrow it down to the exact update which is causing the problem. Maybe its worth a try. Off Topic: I agree vista is much better at gaming, directx 10 helps alot too. So ye i agree with every word especially the "3 frames means nothing..." but not going to make a big statement out of it. Lego
  24. Aye lol but wasnt blaming you anyways , i was mainly thinking (when i started this) that lets say if someone had SP1 pre-integrated and then SP2 appears on windows update, i want to be able to install it without reinstall. But then again it would be best to just reinstall with SP2 pre-integrated which i would of done anyway so your right. I've kept all the stuff anyways most importantly the error numbers incase someone does have them. Personally i would think that would be a silly thing to do, but i was hoping that Windows Update will only download the stuff you need like if you dont have Windows Defender you wont get Definition Updates, another example is if if you didnt have Security Center installed it wont add the missing links n crap. but thats wishful thinking and probably wont happen. Sounds stupid when i think about it (the security center example idea thingy). Liam
  25. Your Joking!?!?! dunno what to say.... Oh well lol
