    Windows Updates

PVU - Do you want to step up to the plate and maintain the 2k list?
  2. Please extract your WMP11 installer into HF\WMP11 with winzip or winrar. Report back.
  3. I'm not sure why it's not getting copied correctly. Perhaps there's another hotfix that is interfering with things. Can you run a test case where you only use 975713 in HF and nothing else? Then go into the sourcess and just double check to see if the offending dlls have the right revision.
  4. I had a feeling that the quartz hotfix wasn't going to be handled correctly. Put it into the sw1 folder and call it a day. or better yet, have you considered using the 2k update list instead of the old school unoffical sp5? Whatever the case is, I have no plans for fixing 2k. I've moved on. I suppose though, you can manually edit the layout.inf file, locate the msyuv.dll entry and make it say msyuv.dll = 1,,,,,,,,3,3 instead. I don't recall is layout.inf is a protected file or not so do this on a test case. Other than that, I don't plan to investigate further.
  5. Maybe you can help since I don't have x64 windows. Extact the hotfix (do a commanline, and use the /x switch). Extract to whereever you like. Next look at the files inside the various folders. Now, look at the same files on the OS and make note of the version numbers. Run the hotfix normally. Finally look at the resultant file changes and see whether or not those same files are part of the sourcess folder. I'm not sure when I'll get around to fixing things though.
  6. A new beta is up. Please test if you are a home user. If you are a working at a company or business, get lost and don't use this software. If there's one more business user that comes on this board and asks for help, I'm outta here. simbionte - you discovered a lingering prob. There was an issue with your language of the script. There was a "fix" I posted in the installer thread a few months back that required a manual edit to fix things for your language. Hopefully I have automated that process with the new beta. wela - thanks for posting. Hopefully others will follow suit and say they are successful too so I can make this a final and get on with my life. If your language isn't Chinese or Portuguese, then this beta won't change things for you.

    Windows Updates

Martin - What's the correct tz update? Methinks I'll be stopping the 2k update list after this update. I've done my duty. Time to move on.
  8. I always have dumb ideas, it just so happens that hfslip is one of them. A dumb idea just arose. Tomcat wrote a handy commandline utility that used an old command line hfnetchk. As part of the script that TC wrote, it downloaded the latest MSSecure_1033.CAB file from msft. If one were to extract the cab file, you'd find an xml file. The xml file is full of file names and versions and what the download links are. Maybe there is a way to do a findstr on the file to get the right path to the hotfix. Here's a sample line from the xml file when viewed with notepad. The xml file is 57k lines long, so the findstr command may take a bit with a list of hotfixes to parse fully. <Location LocationID="1490" Path="http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/1/7/417ba29a-1906-4346-9c83-3e841e4068e4/IE6.0sp1-KB922760-Windows2000-x86-ENU.exe" AbsolutePath="" /> The tricky part would be to get the appropriate language for the cab files. The script I have here and have been using for a number of years works fine with ENU versions. TC had three languages identified.
  9. Hmmm, just like I said. You aren't using this for personal use. Please stop using hfslip.
  10. NathanGJedi - Please re-read the software license agreement that came along with hfslip. You are using it against the agreement.
  11. New beta is up. Inki discovered a flaw when slipstreaming drivers when not using hfcleanup. All is fixed. If you haven't used hfexpert or hfcleanup, then this change probably won't affect you. Remember, I can't test all cases out, so please test away and report back. I'd like to make this a final one day.
  12. The fixes aren't a big deal. I'm doing some tests now and plan to release in a little bit.
  13. Stupid me, I saw the entry but didn't notice the sourcedisksfiles. The order of the hfcleanup driver removal and the hfexpert driver addition was reordered on the current set of 1.7.10 betas. The reason it was swapped was so a generic set of reducers could be used and the user can add files back in. Thanks for the hfslip.log files, using that I was able to replicate the prob. This prob will only happen if you slipstreamed drivers and didn't use hfcleanup. If hfcleanup was used, this issue would not have happened. Keep an eye on the beta thread for a fix. Thanks!

    FDV fileset for XP

Don't forget the bongos for communicating too. It's far too windy to see the smoke signals. My take on the sourcess ident files is that the hfslipwu.inf needs win51 there (for xp only). I think layout.inf has something about ident files, but not sure about the rest of the msft setup infs.
  15. Both files have HSP56MR.INF = 1,,,,,,,20,0,0 & JVCDSC.INF = 1,,,,,,,20,0,0 in the [sourceDisksFiles] section, so they are getting copied. If in doubt, during the install when the hardware detection is happening, hit a ctl+f10 to bring up a dos box. CD to the windows\inf folder and dir a dir for your new inf files. I'll bet they are there. Are you sure you got the header correct in your inf file? Just a dumb Q, but why not slipstream more stuff?

    FDV fileset for XP

If you need the show desktop icon in the quicklaunch area, you can put a CMD file into hfsvcpack. Look at the last paragraph of secton 7 of the hfslip's hfcleanup description. There's a download zip file that contains a CMD file that sets you up nicely.
  17. That's strange. I've ran a 2k source with the latest beta and the 1.7.9 and saw correct entries in both txtsetup. The order was different, but the contents appeared correct. Can you ZIP and post both versions of your txtsetup sif files?
  18. Are you sure you named them as INF files? Or better yet, why not attach your hfslip.log file so we can all take a look.
  19. Hi Martin, Once it was working, I decided to leave it alone. At one point in time, I had the program set up where you could run hfcleanup on a fully sourcess'd folder. Some of that functionality still exists . Because this effort was kind of halted due to time constraints and lack of hfslip funding, this resulted in some dead code. Then again, there's plenty of dead code in the script. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Those entries would only show up on the add/remove programs windows components anyway. Tommyp
  20. Is the sinclari the one with the fancy schmancy membrane keyboard and the big a$$ powerpacks that plugged into the back of the keyboard?
  21. Yea, revs D & E are the same for the general user. I'm not even sure if FDV even uses the special parsing yet.
  22. That link is far from slipstreaming hotfixes, it's just a fancy post-windows-install hotfix installer. To each their own. Good luck.
  23. FDV's request is -or will be- part of his fileset. It's to add processing of special file that that is run at T-13.
  24. All's cool here Kiki. No harm taken and no harm given.
  25. I don't think that the ryanvm update packs work with hfslip. Sorry.
