  1. I've had similar problems in the past. It was on a real comp, not vmware, and caused by an improper driver. Did you upgrade vmware? if so, you may need to reinstall the vmware tools. other than this, i have no other suggestions. shark
  2. This is the poster from PDC 2005 available for download. Download the WinFX Developer Reference Poster from PDC 2005 direct from microsoft ... shark
  3. Media Player Classic , by default, reports what you are watching to MSN Messenger just like winamp repots the title of a song you're listening to. I dont install QT in a usual way, i only use its filter and plugins to enable .mov functionallity. You should just move qttask.exe to your desktop and temporarily delete the path from the registry, and see if your player still functions properly. shark
  4. so that wasnt causing the Sygate warning .. thats all i can think of, sorry. shark
  5. Well i came up with a solution that works for me. Note: I do not use the quicktime player whatsoever. I associate the mov extension to Media Player Classic. I deleted qttask.exe from the harddrive and removed its path from the registry. (for unattended removal of the registry setting) Rebooted and tested playing QuickTime movies in IE and tested playin mov files in MPC. All worked fine. a quick note regarding MPC ... In the player go to View\Options\Tweaks Check for the settings Send "Now Playing"... This is enabled by default and can be VERY embarrassing depending on the title you're watching ! shark
  6. In the player go to View\Options\Tweaks Check for the settings Send "Now Playing" .... This is enabled by default and can be VERY embarrassing depending on the title you're watching ! shark

  8. I grab the MSI file from the %temp% dir and install it with whatevername.msi /passive btw, i find /passive works with 99% of msi files shark
  9. The regtweak works for me except that any usage of QuickTime puts it back in. I havent been able to prevent it from replacing itself. shark

  11. When i posted that request, i thought i found the script in the nlite\addons section. That particular section is loaded with crap, and near 50pages. Sorry, for my confusion. yes, the autoit thread moves alot slower and is much cleaner. Thanks for sharing your work, it is appreciated. shark
  12. @Halfwalker I havent tested this, but dayyyummm that looks nice. Thanks for sharing ... shark
  13. The idea isnt new, but to uncomplicate things why not just keep several Winnt.sif files on several floppies and use whichever floppy is correct for the installation you are about to proceed with. shark
  14. yep, there is a double backslash in your command. shark
  15. batchfile example: I had some problems with commands for vbs scripts in batch files and found you must place 'wscript.exe' in front of the command to avoid these issues. Quote is editted with the new format, sorry if i caused anyone any problems. shark
  16. I'm glad you got it working. Just to present another possibility, you can execute a small VBS script to CREATE the shortcut instead of copying an existing shortcut. copy/paste the above into notepad and save as FlashFXP.vbs and execute it anytime AFTER the flashfxp directory actually exists. shark
  17. Is there a possibilty to place a link in your 1ST post to your posted script? Soon, it will be buried amongst 50 other pages and difficult to find. By the way, when i 1st came across your script, i tested it, and it worked fine. shark
  18. Paint.NET 2.5 Great little program, i recommend you try it if you havent already. shark
  19. try using this sites Unattended CD/DVD Guide Under the heading 'Reference' click 'Using CDIMAGE GUI" shark
  20. It would be nice if the PING documentation was downloadable instead of requiring the user to read several online pages. shark
  21. Most likely, if it worked without that folder, the folder contains a corrupt file. DONT MOVE the folder, COPY it elsewhere, and then try creating your image again. shark
  22. version 1.2.3 BETA b360 is available (updated Dec 9 '05) uTorrent Download Page shark
  23. I agree with the above statement 100%. If you want newly developed applications to run on your computer you will soon realize you will also need to install dotnet 2.0 to run them. shark
  24. Cd's and DVD's are usually the culprit here. Removing the media from optical drives should solve this problem. shark
  25. @ Crash&Burn, some enlightenment ... Spyware: Any software that covertly gathers user information through the user's Internet connection without his or her knowledge, usually for advertising purposes. Once installed, the spyware monitors user activity on the Internet and transmits that information in the background to someone else. I'm quite sure that UserImages.bmp isnt qualified to be defined as spyware. shark
