  1. If it could get on IRC, it'd be a start...
  2. I *need* someone that was having problems with XPlode beforehand, with the "Failed to Initialise" error thing. And someone with Server2003. If there's any takers, get me on IRC, otherwise it'll stay XP-only.
  3. Precisely the reason.
  4. New documentation is being written for XPlode 4. You can see the start of them in the "documentation wiki" section of the XPlode Website. It's very much incomplete, but I plan to have both XPlode 4 and the documentation complete within the first week of January. If you can wait until then, you'll have proper documentation for once. It will contain complete documentation of all tags related to XPlode.
  5. Front page of the XPlode website updated. http://xplode.voidfx.com/
  6. Fixed.
  7. Front page of the XPlode website updated. http://xplode.voidfx.com/
  8. I'll be addressing all these issues in the new version of XPlode. Unfortunately, I just don't remember how to get it working in XPlode 1.1.2. Sorry.

    XPlode?

First thing first, read through the XML. Specifically, the example.xml in the zip file. Second, read the faq entries on the website: http://xplode.voidfx.com/modules/wffaq/ They'll show you how to integrate it into an install. If you still have further questions, you're going to have to be more specific as to what you don't understand.
  10. Okay people, as some of you may have read, the HD I had XPlode on died, and I lost everything XPlode3, and most of XPlode2. This has given me a big chance to rewrite everything completely from scratch, rather than just using parts of older versions in order to make things work. This is the time for you people to put in requests - I'll be able to add them in much easier when I don't have a set structure already in place. At the moment, I have an XML parser going, and it's MUCH more robust than previous versions. Proper error detection, entity support, etc. etc. - I'm currently wondering why I didn't use this in the first place. If people want to request things, DON'T use here, get me on IRC - irc.liquified.net / #XPlode - I'll be able to discuss it with you in realtime, instead of waiting for posts. This opportunity will only be available for the next day or two, so you are going to have to act quick, otherwise I'll be at the point where I can't just modify everything again.
  11. Just a note... XPlode will now be using a more conformant XML parser... and it TELLS you what you get wrong. Example: <test>This is a long **** test of something & something.</test> Error: From XML Spec:http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/REC-xml-20040204/#sec-references I assume that nobody gets it.... but you can figure out what it means from the spec. i.e. The error was the & should be & as per normal. Yes it's been a long day, so this post may not be understandable...
  12. Yes, the topic is me swearing. Bad news. One of my hard drives died, and it happened to be the one that XPlode3 was stored on. The last backup I made of my whole source tree was back when I had a half-baked XPlode2.... so I get to do it ALLLLLL again. Hopefully I will have something usable within a week, but not promises. *mightily p***ed off*
  13. *bump* I know it's been AGES, but eh, would be useful ;-) Drivers extracted from ForceWare 5.10 installer: http://xplode.voidfx.com/downloads/nvIDE.zip
  14. I'll look into it tomorrow. For now... SLEEP! EDIT: Screenshot capability added - users may put their own in, as long as you're registered.
  15. The subject says it all. Check it out at http://xplode.voidfx.com/ Let me know if there are any problems.
  16. Yay, 4th consecutive post. Anybody test the newest dev? Or has everyone just dropped off the face of the earth?
  17. Just a Q, is there a possibility for turning off sigs on all new accounts by default? If loading such an amount of data (overestimated, in my opinion) is a problem, then switch them off. This page currently with 16 posts comes out at 82kB, cached images from the MSFN site come out at nearly ~100kB, and avatars/sigs end up at ~160kB... so 340kB. Much lower than just the "640-760k of assumed data of signatures". Admittedly there is only 5 unique signatures in this thread, but 8 uniques would still mean ~260kB. In fact, it'd be a much smaller if gamehead200 would move off jpg and onto png I'm not trying to attack you, nor am I trying to get the rule abolished or anything, in fact I think it's quite a valid one. Just making the facts known, and providing a suggestion.
  18. Not entirely sure about the loading times theory - my sig image was never more than about 5kB... well, that was before I had to change the size, and decided that I may as well throw a background image in. I do admit that my sig could get out of hand at certain points - I think I had it around 1500px wide at once point, due to song titles. Silly me. Capped at 300x80 now.
  19. Okay, I just realised I hadn't put the test version back on the new server, so I've built the current dev version, and uploaded that. URL is in the first post.
  20. I have a feeling that the issue of sigs being modified without notice has changed - you may have been one of the first few people to have it done. That policy seems to have changed, as I was PM'ed rather than have it modified on me.
  21. Server *should* be up. Changed hosts. Again. Ugh.
  22. I'm not going to send people versions of XPlode via email. Sorry. This is just a test version, and is really non-functional as far as doing stuff is concerned, so I don't particularly see a need to get it all to you as soon as possible. When the site comes back up, you shall be able to download it as per normal.
  23. So a compulsory command. Right. We shall see.

Weird. Oh well. I'll get you to check stuff sometime soon.

I'm not even sure whether XPlode works under win2k nowadays... I was reading docs on MSDN the other day and found that some of the funcs I was using apply to only XP and later... And I'd been using them all the way through, since XPinstall days. Looks like I have something else to get people to check for me...
