  1. The cube g4 is a sweet machine, at least it was when it came out. Loved the design. What do you mean you can't get video out of it ? You can get an ADC to vga dongle/extractor. You can use target disk mode on any machine that has a firewire port, 6 pin to 6 pin; windows or mac. Use macdrive to mount the drive correctly though so you can read it at least.
  2. Thanks for the speedy answer! I appreciate it.
  3. I understand that. I only use the program for a specific need for windows 2000. This XP question is for the computers that I own personally. We don't have licenses for windows xp at our school district. No need for it.
  4. So how would you apply ie7 reg tweaks correctly ? If I understand what you said correctly, with first gui logon, the tweaks should take ? Thanks for the speedy and thorough response I appreciate it. I use this to deploy on dozens of computers. I work in a school district.
  5. What are the downsides to installing with t-13 method over slipstreaming or first logon. I have a volume licensed copy so t-13 is possible. I want to know if t-13 method will fail if no internet connection is detected like network adapter not found for first logon. I want the method that won't fail regardless and will take registry tweaks like phishingfilter and whatnot. Thanks!
  6. The problem is with the RVMaddons pack from RyanVM. It includes HighMat. Thats what keeps holding it up. Thanks for the help! Problem solved!
  7. Thats for windows xp not windows 2000.
  8. Ok at least I know the problem. Ya I noticed that it adds a secton instead of appending to the section at the beginning. What HighMat update are you talking about ?
  9. The following value in the .SIF file used by Setup is corrupted or missing: Value 0 on the line in section [WinntDirectories] with key "103." Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press F3. Attached is my txtsetup.sif. I think thats where the problem lies. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! TXTSETUP.7z
  10. I fixed it, just not the way I would like. So what I do is delete the C:\windows\java and C:\windows\system32\msjava.dll and delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Internet Explorer\AdvancedOptions\Java VM\ and the update doesnt come up in windows update. I just added this to my tweaks.reg file. Works for me. Its weird because the only thing that really exists is the msjava.dll and the one registry tree Java VM.
  11. I've re-slipstreamed my source to make sure it was a bare source and remade my image and I'm still getting this update. I also added in a registry tweak to remove HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AdvancedOptions\Java VM and the folder java in the microsoft folder. These are supposedly the files for the Microsoft JVM. In the java folder there is no files however so it shouldn't be doing anything. There is now jview.exe or wjview.exe in the windows folders either. These were the only traces of the Microsoft JVM that I could find. However, the update still comes up on windows update. Any help would be appreciated.
  12. I just put it in here because its related to my previous post about microsoft jvm which was a hfslip problem. Sorry about that.
  13. Ok, so I slipstreamed my orginal sp1 disc with sp1a and then slipstreamed with sp2. The sp1a source works fine. The sp2 source gives me that error. I have slipstreamed it straight so sp2 and it works fine as well. This is all done to try to correct the ms jvm update that keeps coming up on my sp2 source. These are bare sources, meaning no hfslip is applied or an updates. But there will be. What does that error mean ? Thanks!
  14. Here is the txtsetup.sif file. I typed in jview and I get an error. I have the Sun java installed, version 1.6. It shows up in internet explorer and in add/remove programs. How can you edit the sysoc.inf to get rid of java ? My source is an xp sp2 source. Its a volume licensed version or corporate version. I would slipstream service pack 1a first then 2 but I don't have the original original source anymore. I just have the original source slipstreamed with service pack 2. Thanks for all the help! TXTSETUP.7z
  15. Maybe slipstreaming it with service pack 1a then to service pack 2 ? I think I will try it just to see.
  16. Is there a way to fix this problem ? A way to remove the microsoft jvm ? Thanks!
  17. I took out the java and the update still comes up. I am using a volume licensed version and it was orginally service pack 1 that I slipstreamed with service pack 2 manually.
  18. Nope, All I have is the windows updates direct x wmp11 ie7 java6 adobereader8 and microsoft office 2003 on my disc. I had an integrated install of this same xp disc that didnt come up with this update on windows update. The update has only came up with I used hfsilp.
  19. For some reason, since I updated my slipstreamed xp disc with the newest version of hfslip this month, windows update is complaining that I need KB816093. I know this should not apply to windows xp pro sp2. When I try to install it, it errors out saying that there has to be an existing install of the microsoft virtual machine. Why could this be ? Thanks.
