  4. Has anyone managed to get Midtown Madness 2 to run in XP.The graphics are terrible.Parts of the roads are patchy and only appear when i drive over them. Also the cars have no wheels. The only way i can run it is by setting the video to software mode(which looks crap).Compatibility mode doesn't work either, and the official patch made no difference.I'm running a Creative Geforce 2 GTS with 23.11 Det's. Thanx. :confused

  8. It makes more sense to do a fresh install. You obviously want to run XP now,so there's no point in just doing an upgrade. If you just do an upgrade all your ME system files, etc will stay sitting idly on your drive and taking up space.
  9. The reason windows update is causing problems is because the site address has been changed, but xp still points you to the old address. There are instructions on how to rectify the problem here; http://www.neowin.net/bboard/showthread.ph...&threadid=10441 Read the post by "DrZoidberg". His solution worked for me.

Go to control panel > phone and modem options. On the modems tab highlight your modem and hit the properties button. On the advanced tab type "ATM0" (without quotes),in the "Extra initialization commands" box.Click OK and apply. You modem should now be silent.By the way the 0 in ATM0 is zero not the letter O.
  13. You might find an answer here; http://www.slovaktech.com/phonechanger.htm
  14. Go to internet options. On the connections tab hit the settings button.Hit the properties button next to dial up settings user name.Put a tick in "use dialling rules".You should now be able to change the numbers via the Alternates button or the Dialing rules button.Hope that helps.
