  1. i havnt edit wpi.hta, and im using the horizontal theme, i was just adding descriptions for all the programs that i have and after i saved the last one, i was prompted with this error and now every time i run wpi, i get the same error and then after clicking yes, all the applications disapear as if i had added none of them at all, but yet in my config.js file all my entries are there,,

    heres the image,, can any one tell me whats going on,, kel ? this is a very strange error because it wasnt there when i went into it, and i didnt add any programs to my list, the only thing i added was program descriptions

  2. ok how about this for the wish list,, if checked on install by category... will there be an option in the future, to sort the order in which youd like the categories to install,,

    now that would be useful,

    for example,, if you have 2 categories and they are (system and applications)

    as of right now if you checked install by category,, then the applications will install first,, but what happens when you needed your system category installed first,, mainly for the sol reason that it holds system things like, netframework and runtimes and so forth,,

    right now the only way around this that i see is not to have checked is install by category, have the system apps, install order numbers first

    maybe you guys could work on some thing like that,,

  3. well i found the problem on my issue,, you should download this and test it out too , to see if it has the same effects on you as it did me,, it seems to have strange effects on the wpi installer

    i downloaded the Switchless Silent Installer - 974KB that RogueSpear created

    FlashGet V1.73 Build 128

    http://www.doitrightconsulting.net/files/s...ck/FlashGet.exe

    ive taken it out of my install by replacing it with my own installer and now it seems to work just fine,, but for some reason when i had that installer in there, it change / had critical effects to the operation of wpi,,

    pls check it out to let me know if it is the installer ,, or if it may of just been the errors on my side

  4. so my question is,, what should i do if i cant find the (ntkrnlmp.exe) file to edit with boot editor ?

    I'm sorry. I just thought you need to find the file.

    However, I'm using Resource Hacker to edit the file. But, I can't change the position of progress bars.

    its all good thanks for helping me mazin, yeah i havnt been able to change the position of the progress bars yet myself,, grrrr ,, let me know if you find anything out before i do.. on this latest kernal 5.1.2600.2885 (ntkrnlmp.exe),

    thanks again

  5. ok after reading the guide alittle more closly i figured it out http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/51/

    but now i ran into another problem,, upon trying to edit the kernal for dual cores, i get this error that it cant verify and alter the progress bars position because its an unsupported version

    any ideals on what i should do, or should i just ignore these errors and everything will be ok ?

    grrr ive gotten so close on this but yet so far :no:

    n/m i guess im just gonna have to go the long route and manually edit the progress bars position

    ,ok well it looks now like im gonna have major trouble doing this,,

    does any body know the exact string for the new kernal 5.1.2600.2885 (ntkrnlmp.exe),, i need to know the palatte lines and the progress bar lines

    when i try this with boot editor, it says unknown version cant verify palettes and positioning with smart.....

    any body have any ideals

  6. Extract SP2.cab to get the file. If you don't have SP2.cab, extract the Driver.cab.

    hmmm mazin i think you misunderstood me alittle,, so let me try to clairify my self more better

    ,, i can easily get all the kernals off the disk it self,,

    my main question is,, why isnt my dual core pentium pc,, useing the right kernal, instead of ntoskrnl.exe,, shouldnt there be a ntkrnlmp.exe file in the system32 folder instead of the normal single core kernal (ntoskrnl.exe)

    i know for a fact i have a dual core cpu, and thats why this puzzles me,,

    ========

    i want to edit the right kernal for the dual core, but its not in the system32 folder and yes i could simply place the dual core kernal(ntkrnlmp.exe) in the system32 folder but if i do that how will boot editor know which kernal to edit out ?,,,,

    and also does the (ntkrnlmp.exe) kernal automatically get renamed to (ntoskrnl.exe) by system default, upon instillation on a pc with dual core cpu's ?

    this is kinda new to me on trying to edit dual core kernals,, ive always had single core's

  7. hi im trying to create a new boot screen for 2 different pcs that i have 1 being a single core (athlon xp 2400+) and the other being a dual core (pentium d cpu 2.80)

    well for the single core athlon,, ove created a nice boot screen, but for the dual core thats where the problem comes in

    when i go into system32 on the pc with the pentium, i cant seem to find the dual core kernal (ntkrnlmp.exe) i can only find the file (ntoskrnl.exe)

    so by seeing that i assumed by the name it was using the single core kernal,, so on my unattended disk, i forced it to use the same kernal as my athlon pc did,, and that made it unbootable after first boot..

    so my question is,, what should i do if i cant find the (ntkrnlmp.exe) file to edit with boot editor ?

    and also another question is,, on my dual core cpu pc,, did the kernal get renamed to (ntoskrnl.exe) , ? is that why i cant seem to find the (ntkrnlmp.exe) file on that pc

    any help would be very appreciated

    thanks,,

  8. ok i just retested now,, this time with a smaller amount of apps about 10 for this test and i got the same error at the end in the install.hta file plus i got a few other things to bicker at lol,, but i hope they can be fixed easy

    to start off,, ive numbered all my apps by 5's in the install order and for some odd reason inside the log file they are surprisingly,, number out of order and the majority of them are not even numbered what i numbered them,, for example,,

    thats a small portion of the log file

    now on to my second bicker,,

    some apps during install are getting stuck for example 1 app from this install is crap cleaner,,

    heres my install lines in config.js

    prog[pn]=['Crap Cleaner V1.33.382'];
    ordr[pn]=[80];
    desc[pn]=['CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) is a freeware System optimization tool. That removes unused and temporary files from your System - allowing Windows to run faster, more efficiently and giving you more hard disk space. The best part is that it is fast! (normally taking less that a second to run) and Free.'];
    uid[pn]=['CCLEANERV127260'];
    dflt[pn]=['no'];
    cat[pn]=['System'];
    forc[pn]=['no'];
    configs[pn]=['Custom Setup,Programmers Setup'];
    cmd1[pn]=['%CDROM%\\Install\\Maintenance\\crap_cleaner\\CrapCleaner.exe /S'];
    picf[pn]=['ccleaner_icon_01.png'];
    picw[pn]=['128'];
    pich[pn]=['128'];
    textl[pn]=['Top'];
    pn++;

    now that part is correct but yet,, its getting stuck during the install and now this is what its reading in the log file for this app

    Saturday, October 14, 2006 3:52:04 PM
    Program: Crap Cleaner V1.33.382

    strange issue you see here, 1 its adding a cmd 2 line with another apps info,, and its leaving cmd 1 out of it all together..

    ok now on to my last error/bug,,

    when the install is finished installing its last app, instead of exiting peacefully,, it gives me an error... and then even after aborting,, it still wont exit,, even if you click yes,, it wont exit either.. heres a picture of this error.. its an error from installer.hta,, from what i can see..

    post-10764-1160858049_thumb.jpg

  9. this version is definatly getting good,, :)

    so heres 1 for the wish list,, it may or may not be processable but here it goes

    ive noticed that theres now an abort button, i think thats a great ideal,,

    so my ideal comes from that

    is there any way we can have a way to abort a single install instead of the whole installer (meaning,, some times when during an install some apps may get stuck , therefor not progressing any further,, holding the rest of the application installs from occuring, and when this occurs the only real way to get out of it,, is to abort or hard restart the pc,

    it would be nice if there was a feature to just abort a single app from installing any further if it gets stuck during an install.., then let the rest of the apps continue to install

    well thats my 2 cents for santas wish list lol

  10. i believe i found an error,, even tho it may not stop the program from running correctly i just thought id bring it to your attention,,

    it seems that when looking through the log file,, under all user defined Category's it will say undefined,, it will only show the category as defined if your using a predefined category (not user defined)

    and also i think i found another bug/error,, but im not sure as of yet,, i just got an error at the end of the instillation from installer.hta,, but im gonna retest some more to see if i can resurrect this error,, if not then no worries,,

  11. the only thing i can tell you on this version is to use autoit to install it

    heres an example of mine, use it if you want to

    #NoTrayIcon

    Opt("WinWaitDelay",100)
    Opt("WinTitleMatchMode",4)
    Opt("WinDetectHiddenText",1)
    Opt("MouseCoordMode",0)
    Run('OutpostProInstall.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /SP-')
    WinWait("Configuration Wizard","Configuration Wizard")
    If Not WinActive("Configuration Wizard","Configuration Wizard") Then WinActivate("Configuration Wizard","Configuration Wizard")
    WinWaitActive("Configuration Wizard","Configuration Wizard")
    Send("{ENTER}{ENTER}")
    Sleep(90000)
    WinWaitActive("Configuration Wizard")
    WinActivate("Configuration Wizard")
    Send("{ENTER}")
    Send("{ESC}")
    EXIT

    just change the time limit to suit your own needs if you use this pc, but as you can see im using the switches that youve mentioned to.

    and as for the registry.. just import your key under this string in the registry

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Agnitum\Outpost Firewall]

    hope this helps you out some

  12. any chance of some one making a mst file for the latest 303 version ?

    I created a new mst file for KAV 6.0.0.303 , I did the same thing as I did in this post:

    http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=509629

    I made it for the dutch installer I think it should work for the other languages to.

    kav6.0.0.303.msi TRANSFORMS=kav6.0.0.303nl.mst /QN /NORESTART

    REMARK:

    When KAV runs for the first time the system will auto reboot!!!

    kav6.0.0.303nl.mst

    thanks ill test it out today

  13. Here is a copy of the path in WPI.

    "%CDROM%\MCEDVD_EN\WPI\Install\Working\Acrobat_5\Adobe_5.au3"

    hi, well to answer your question is actually very easy,, your only half way done useing your autoit script,, your autoit script has to be converted from .au3 to .exe,, i suggest reading alittle more on autoit,

    after youve converted your au3 to a exe file simply just run the exe and thats it,,

    hope that helps some.. ..

  14. hmm very strange problem that you have indeed, id say yes and no to your question about the office app, but yes theres always a chance,, id say during this strange occurences that you have with the pc open up windows task manager and see whats actually running,, you may prove its the office app if its system consumptons are higher then normal.

    well that would be my 2 cents any ways,, but id definatly also run HDTune like turan suggests,,

  15. well ive finally just gotten around to getting a chance to test this sucker out and so far i havnt found any real problems, but as for others have asked for i think,, i think a progress bar would be nice,, or possibly a progress bar just for the automatic side of it,, for example if the program is set to run autmatically then,, instead of actually seeing the app it self,, some sort of progress bar popup would apear in its place, therefor showing its current progress,,

    i know its just mainly cosmetic stuff, but oh well, makes it look more pro quality if you know what i mean,,

    well any ways just reporting back to say it was a successful test with your latest version,,, good job :thumbup
