  1. Hi All I'm just wondering what's causing deep HD metadata files fragmentation here lately. I was pointing the issue on some new software I had installed recently but they aren't the culprit (uninstalled them for testing but fragmentation persists from time to time). Is there any way to find out what's causing the metadata fragmentation? I run PerfectDisk frequently and never had this problem before. Thanks
  2. Sophos Anti-Virus Small Business Edition 4.03 I'd never change it with another!
  3. Thanks to All, @jago_lfn, yep, I'm trying CleverCache V6 Pro for a workstation and it seems to be running a little faster, the only downside I've found is a long delay to load the tool after PC is started
  4. I'm wondering if anyone is using these kind of tools such as CleverCache V6 Professional or CacheBoost Please I need advice regarding to their reliability and/or real effectiveness working on a Windows XP environment. Thanks in advance
  5. 101% agree I'm using Small Business Edition 4.01 version on my desktop PC now...
  6. Thanks for the input. I found this service changed from "automatic" to "manual" start automatically after couple hours from running. I guess it finally did its job
  7. I was just about to ask the same as Phantom did, and I would add: I noticed a new running process called "mscorsvw.exe" under TaskManager after of installation of the new .NET 2.0. Does anyone know what is this process for and/or its purpose?
  8. Hi, I just noticed a new service InstallDriver Table Manager under msconfig/services, after installing new QuickTime 7 with the standalone QT 7 installer (without iTunes). What's the purpose of this service and/or it is required for the QT running? thanxs
  9. I noticed that YahooInternetMail application is not installed on my system anymore after I had uninstalled all of Yahoo stuff, so I just deleted orphaned registry trace left there by yahoo uninstaller on "add/remove programs" HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Uninstall/YahooInternetMail
  10. How do I remove Yahoo! Internet Mail bypassing Add/Remove programs? clicking the change/remove button does nothing... I want to make a fresh install of new Yahoo Messenger 7, uninstalling all previous Yahoo stuff first. Cannot get rid of Yahoo Internet Mail application
  11. Did you read my previous post? I told you 95% of our clients have never even seen the site. No one bothers to update it, because we really don't need to. Those that want to know about the product either hear it from us verbally, or someone else verbally. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe As for me, a decent and up to date webpage is the better start to making business and a hidden company is a untrusted company
  12. Great Kopect8! Thanxs for ur quick response, so far method you suggest is working.... I almost sure there are several identic duplicated files added after SysRest also because my antivirus program is scanning more files than usual since the last S.R. was applied. Thanx a lot for your time!
  13. thanks, I'll give a try btw, all duplicated files have the same date of its originals... does anyone know any program out there to do the work on it (.dll and other file types)
  14. Hi there, After I performed System Restore feature on my system (successful), I found several system and programs files copied duplicated from previous originals, for exampl: rtcimsp.dll , rtcimsp(2).dll These files are scattered all over hard disk. What is the easiest way to get rid of all duplicated ones? Thanks
  15. Finally, Spybot S&D 1.4 RC2 did the trick Thanks All
  16. As I said before, I already tried MSAS but it didn't found nothing wrong, I guess I shouldn't be that concerned
  17. Did Ad-Aware detect anything? If concerned, post a HijackThis log after running Ad-Aware and Spybot. Also, you may wish to get Spybot 1.4RC1 (RC2 is unstable) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Tarun, Ad-aware didn't hit anything. I only use Ad-Aware SE Pro and Spybot S&D 1.3. I already tried trial versions of spysweeper, spyware doctor, counterspy and windows antispyware beta. None of these can detect the adware 'backweb lite' that only spybot 1.3 can (with latest definitions released yesterday). I'm guessing it is associated to legit programs so I decided to wait and investigate. I'll try spybot 1.4 beta as last resort
  18. Sorry for the delay, I'm using Spybot S&D 1.3
  19. Ok, latest Spybot's detection signature (4/27) did the hit "Backweb Lite" on my 'always clean' machine, found 3 traces of it. Did a google search but I don't have any program associated to this adware, problem is when I try to fix it, a message appears saying 2 out of 3 entries cannot be removed and Spybot offers option to run at next restart so it can remove them. After, SB is still unable to remove 'backweb lite' entries. What's wrong? Is backweb lite a real adware or what
