  2. just my two cents, Make a image of your system. Install the drivers for you're printer using the HP downloadfile. After install has finished and everything works as supose to use a drivergrabberprogram to pull the drivers for youre printer from the system. Forummember Siginet FREE drivegrabberprogram can be found here http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Drive...er/1170699160/1 or on his webpage http://siginetsoftware.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=13 Unplug you're printer, restore you're system from the image, reboot, plug the printer in and when the new hardwarefoundwizard shows point to the corresponding directory/media where you saved you're drivers. A little bit of hard work but it wil leave you with a clean system without al the junk HP installs by nature. good luck Doenja
  3. Tada!!!!!! Succes!!! Yes! Writing the ISO with Nero 7.5.9.0 gave the ASMS error. After a goolesearch i found lots of people having the same error after they burned there cd with a modern version of Nero. So I burned using ImgBurn and no problems at all. B) Conclusion: VirtualPC and Nero sucks bigtime in this case. Damian666, All is fine! Thanks everybody for responding.
  4. having fun all day!! Followed your advice and patched de sfc.ddl with Nlite, closed Nlite and patched with Vistapack, created the Iso, burnt a cdrw and tested on a real system and around T-39 stage i get a errormessage saying I386\asms onjuiste functie (wrong function) Thinking of a burnfailure or something going wrong creating the iso I started all over. Popped in the cd and????? same error ..wtf next step: when the erromessage showed I changed the patched cd for the real cd and setup finished leaving me with a half vista an half winxp style installation. Setup is checking something on the cd before continuing and found everything oke on the real cd Just to be absolutely sure that my genuine cd is ok I've installed with it and all went fine. So the problem seems to be the ASMS error popping up using the patched version. I'don't know what the files are for in that folder but apparently does the patching something to the files in that folder.??? regards Doenja
  5. Oke this is what i've done Installing Vistapack after installation: 1. copyed a fresh set of xpfiles to a new folder ( just to be safe) ( XP Pro retail sp2 integrated) 2. created a iso and used it to install a fresh new Virtual machine. Installation went fine and after that I patched the system with your pack. Result? Al is working. The only thing is that when i want to boot into safemode the system ask for clicking a username witch isnt there Installing with patched CD 1.. copyed a fresh set of xpfiles to another new folder and patched the files with your pack. Created the Iso and installed it on a new fresh virtual machine. Again the system halts at first boot after setup has finished "cleaning temporary installationfiles" 2. Booted into safemode ->works but again NO prefetchfolder. 3. Booting into safemode with network-> system halts 4. Booted into safemode with CMD-> works 5. Disabled SFC by editing the registry and booted again. System halts! Maybe it has something to do with patching the network.dlls? Should I disable sfc by patching the sfc.dll on the cd? I'm gona test on a real system and will give you the results as soon as possible. @ Mara Nlite wasn't even near my computer. regards Doenja Graag gedaan Damian.
  6. @Damian666 I've found some problems with the vistapack. 2.4 release. First: patching extmgr.dl_ failed with the following logmessage Patching File: extmgr.dl_ Copying File to working dir Executing Reshacker File not found Reshacker script error The extmgr.dll.log however produced this: [14 apr 2008, 12:10:54] [FileNames] Exe=Backup\extmgr.dll SaveAs=NewFiles\extmgr.dll Log=Logs\extmgr.dll.log [Commands] -modify "Resources\extmgr.dll\901.avi", AVI, 901, Commands completed Second one is that after patching the CD and after installing the patchedversion in VirtualPC the prefetchfolder is not created and winxp hangs at boot. Booting into safemode is possible. Booting into safemode with networkcapabilitys is not possible (system hangs) third one but this is a minor thingy (i hope ), when installing the battery software de os is complaining about the Logotest Regards Doenja
  7. Thanks for telling! I will remake the addon for you and that with the original name "mpsetupedp.msi" But i still think the the program will ask for the original installer when a error happens. Sometimes when a program get broke it will ask for the original installer. The location where a program got installed from is normally in the register. You could try and rename my WMP11edp.msi to mpsetupedp.msi and install from it if its been asked for. It might just need a few files ore register a broken part again. Done that before posting and the result is the same. I've created my own installer with EDP and as long the filename is the one generated the installer works. As sone as you rename it it gives the error. gr, Doenja
  8. It seems that the MSI created by the Enterprise Deployment Pach doesnt like to be renamed! It gives a error when trying to read from te RARSFX0 folder created in C:Windows\temp Setup is looking for mpsetupedp.msi and finds instead WMP11edp.msi Doenja
  9. What about changing your harddisk, backing up ofcourse the most importend items like documentfolder etc to a Rw/DVD and after that was done erasing the dvd in the proces off making a multibootDVD. I forgot to take out the disk from the writer Ending up with 3 gig of no data at all Ofcourse the old harddisk was already on his way to the compugraveyard. Who said that backing up was a good practice?? Doenja
  10. Sorry my bad It means : the system can't locate the file which should be there. Doenja I'll check it out... Turns out that WMP11 in Dutch is still beta, surely why it doesn't work. Ah, Ok, will have to wait till its final than. thanks for the response. Doenja

  14. Image, image, image !!always create a image before testing!! It takes a few minutes to do but in the end it's so relaxed when things are screwed up. Doenja
  15. Does it sound very rude if I say that it is ones own responsibility for backing up his emails? AFAIK the service is still in betastate so relying on it isn't a wise idea. A spare harddrive does the job better dan Gmail and a 5 gig harddrive is affordable isn't it? create a image and burn it away and you're save Doenja
  16. Great job and thanks to you all. I have a request and that is.. would it be possible to have a choice how the output looks like? ie full path or your cleaner version? Doenja

  19. I think Muslim wants to make a pdf file. In the pdf file he will enclose the code from some batchfile. After that he will be abel to send the file to everyone whois interested en that those people can copy the code from that file. What you can do Muslim is to do a search on the internet for a freeware pdffile creation tool. You can transform any text to PDF format and distribute that copy. A good tool to do so is http://www.pdf995.com/ but there are many more tools on the net hope this will answer youre question.
  20. Explore the backup you made and do a search for *.iaf Outlook stores the accountinfo in a file with the extention .iaf. (internet account files) Onces you retreived the file(s) you can transfer them to the masterdrive and then import them with the importfunction form Outlook. Menu Extra->Accounts->import hope this wil be helpfull for you regards Doenja
  21. If you are using a firewall like Zonealarm Pro go to privacy->adblocking->cookies->third partie cookies and remove the tick were it say's Remove Private Header Information. This is often the "problem" when you get a notice "Sorry, you cannot leech this file. You must visit the home page here" Check again if it possible to download the file. If you use some other program check if there is also such a function. Hope this helps regards Doenja
