  1. one problem is do we know for sure if there are anymore modified files. And will those modified file cause more problems later. and legally he is not allow to use an xp cd from another system, for his new one. Now realistically... it is a different story. I personally don't use nlite. Wouldn't it be easier to just purchase a WindowsXP Pro from Walmart, Kmart, Compusa, Circuit City, or whatever online store you like.
  2. what u are answering is not what i am asking. sorry i don't think i can help you anymore.
  3. call hp and tell them you have a lemon. tell them to send u a new one next day air. that is what i did with my dell 2 years ago. next day i got my new laptop. well that is WHY you should always have a second hard drive. Where u store all your data and files and what not. time for you to learn how to create a Unattended Windows XP cd. So if your computer gets F#U@K! you just throw in the DVD and 1 hour later all your applications are installed for you. Without lifting a finger. Except for a smoke and a beer. root beer i mean.
  4. you want the simplest way. change the name of your xxx.bmp to bliss.bmp, convert into a cab file bliss.bmp drop it into your i386 folder. i personally hate the bliss.bmp it sucks.
  5. ok dude, relax everything will be ok. first is not normal if it has been 40 mins. second, are u booting from the xp cd given to you by hp? third are u booting from the cd during reboot or when u are in windows. forth pls answer if you have more than one hard drive attached.
  6. hehe we have the same motherboard I hv the p4c800 E-deluxe. your board will automatically recognize your SATA drives and raid. trust me it will. I never have to put any drivers for my sata or raid. if you have Windows xp with service pack2 slipstreamed no need for the raid drivers. those are already included. don't know how to slipstream go here http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windo..._slipstream.asp
  7. dude u will get into trouble double posting your problem all over the board. you have a post already dealing with your exact same problem. question, do want to reformat your entire drive or not?
  8. did u check your bios? Are the drives showing up? you got your raid driver from asus? are u booting with a Unattended Windows XP cd w/ sp1 or sp2? "and I got a bsod telling me the drive isnt gonna work and crap. " i am sure it does say this... what exactly was the message.

  21. i don't think winntbbu has anything to do with your motherboard you can go here for help with making winntbbu.dll all i do is get a winntbbu.dl_ from groups.yahoo.com/group/winntbbu and put into my i386 folder and that is it.
