  1. yup, agree on that on the safe side, i made some educated guesses to remove language-specific entries based on the current tutorial, therefore it should run fairly safe all were tested individually, ran, fired up with PDFs (normal and Forms) ... seems to be running well at my side ... p/s: XhmikosR, one thing that I need to inform you: Removal of the "PrintMe Internet Printing" folder. You need to do this TWICE: After saving the MSI, you'll need to remove it again as it somehows shown in InstallShield (if my memory serves me correct, it doesn't get created on actual installation)...
  2. Based on build 26's instructions ... removed 2 (editted by Shark007) **Links removed. Official link is at 1st post**
  3. corporate = no AcroRd32Info and with tweaks ?
  4. good work, XhmikosR! Will test this release once i'm back in the office hope that the updated tutorial will be posted soon! p/s: Dont forget to include additional steps (optional) to remove Form Filling features & files. Personally, I just want to make a bare essential package, i.e. Adobe Reader Extreme <-- Shark007 had this before for v8.x
  5. Feedback on build 23:- Works fine on certain PDF Forms but not all (based on the sample links) "quote_form.pdf" & "po_form.pdf" - Open is ok. Editing is ok. Last entry is to digitally sign the form. Since i don't have any digital certificate installed, clicking this entry will crash the reader. Error points to digsig.api. "fields_example_final.pdf" & "membership_cert.pdf", - Can't open file. Totally crashed the reader. Error points to acroform.api. The rest of the forms are ok.
  6. hi XhmikosR, I just noticed a problem opening PDF Forms ... PDF Form Source: http://www.goeforms.com/services/papertopdf_samples.php MSFN Source: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=778405 From what I observed, the PDF Forms can't be opened by the v9.1 Lite (from build 21 and all the way back to build 6). Reader crashes upon opening these PDF Forms. The error msg points to acroform.api file. Can you please confirm this error on your side? Maybe it's an isolated case, I'm not sure.
  7. An additional level of comfort: PDF integration in Opera 10 works fine (always been)
  8. SHERIFA. the tutorial is for you to manually make a Lite version from ANY localizations. download the official BG package & follow the tutorial to trim the features down. no point using EN as the base and add language-specific files onto it (not practical).
  9. my suggestion is to keep the pack as is, but add optional tutorial to remove Form Filling and Stamps.
  10. LOL i'll leave the operation to experts i have no idea on MSI editing, btw ...
  11. The increase in size is because the program icons have been put inside the MSI that's interesting ... is it possible to do a lipo to carve out the icons off MSI itself?
  12. LOL i have created my own Lite, although not as extensive as yours that's why your work is very much appreciated; especially taking up the challenge of continue Shark007's excellent work i'm totally a fresh noob in editing MSI .. only started using InstallShield just to follow Shark007's guide That's why my own Lite (EN) follow Shark007's and your instructions only anyway, i won't share out my Lite because it'd be redundant anyway. do keep up the work!
  13. i'd prefer Shark007's stance, use Adobe Reader Full if more features required Else, Lite would provide basic PDF viewing ... besides, Full vs Lite is just ~5MB difference
  14. gave v9.1.0.9 a run ... confirm: "Create PDF using Acrobat.com" icon is removed from the toolbar. not working: 3D PDF from link provided by darks0ul. Same error. from what darks0ul mentioned earlier, 3D PDF support only provided by Atmosphere_3D component (which is removed in Lite). therefore, my question is same as XhmikosR, why rt3d.dll is needed anyway? might as well remove this rt3dll.dll and gain a 2MB+ space
  15. I've done a quick comparison between Shark007's v9.0 (Sep'08) vs XhmikosR's v9.1 (Mar'09) ... files differences aside, i focused on the AcroRead.msi itself. Shark007: 1.68 MB (1,763,840 bytes) XhmikosR: 3.75 MB (3,936,256 bytes) this is interesting because Shark007 may have done much more on the MSI itself. maybe v9.1 Lite can still be reduced further?
  16. ok got it ... the rt3d.dll file only be physically copied when SAVING the MSI thanks!
  17. hi again! hope you don't mind asking... On the new Step 10 instruction, do i need to physically move rt3d.dll into "program files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader folder"?
  18. that's great! thanks! i think it'd be great to list them out; in case certain ppl may encounter problem or referencing later. please do update the guide as well
  19. hi! may i know what's been changed from 9.1.0.5 -> 9.1.0.6?
  20. As far as I'm aware of, 7zsd is work by Oleg Scherbakov and the only problem is that he's updating Russian version of his homepage 7zsfx.infoonly, the English version contains old informations. If you look at Russian pages, you'll find updated info. If you aren't familiar with Russian, here's link to download page. The stable version is 1.2.2 (based on 7-zip 4.57) from 26.7.2008, beta version 1.3 (based on 7-zip 4.58) is from 28.7.2008. Simplified changelog: from v1.2 RC1 715 to 1.2.2 code updated to 4.57 added information about used methods and filter in -sfxversion Flag 4096 affects not only name of windows but picture in BeginPrompt dialog and BeginPrompt + ExtractPath too. Fixed possible cursor lost when some app lost its focus. icon change increased number of possible AutoInstallX entries to 62 fixed internal errors variables set by user weren't reflected in parameters for creating of folders 1.2.2 to 1.3 beta code updated to 4.58 added info about used source codes in -sfxversion add Flag 8 OverWriteMode for files blocked by system module variable %%M - SFX Archive name without path Sorry for incorrect translation - neither language is my native :-( good news to all, GUI-version of Oleg's enhanced 7zsd.sfx already been released! http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...st&p=841650
  21. btw, XhmikosR, can you add-on the new instructions to integrate/add rt3d.dll into the MSI package?
  22. hi XhmikosR, just curious: did you use Shark007's method (post #465) to create the lite version? if yes, may i ask you something? Are you using InstallShield to edit the MSI (as per Shark007's instructions)? Instead of using InstallShield, is there any alternative?
