How to pre-configure Internet Explorer options:

Here is my reg file (which gets applied at T-13 stage in the uA setup) for IE6 SP2. I suppose all of these settings are self-explanatory.

Optionally, you can download the reg file itself (if looking through the above code is too much), from the attachment to this post. Note that the 'Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00' header from the attached .reg was deliberately removed to prevent involuntary execution.

In my winnt.sif, if I put a long URL, it wouldn't be imported. Short URLs are imported.

For example, the first URL is imported, but the second isn't:

Home_Page=http://www.msfn.org

Home_Page=http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=80

So, this tweak solves the problem:

Of course, not *ALL*. But pretty much everything (about 99% probably) which is needed to be configured is on here.

Let me clarify that the first post in this thread, contains it exactly as it is supposed to be. There's no errors in it.

We are not confused, we both agree, as my original posting.

In the registry there are Root Keys, those are [ HKCR | HKCU | HKLM | HKU | HKCC ]

these in full format are

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT

HKEY_CURRENT_USER

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

HKEY_USERS

HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG

There is no, HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT, only the Root Key HKEY_USERS with a Key .DEFAULT, below that are further Subkeys, the keys and subkeys and are separated in a reg file by backslashes. You have missed out a backslash, haven't you......HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT

This seemed the most fitting thread to dig up to ask my question. I am about to reinstall with my latest uA DVD but I don't want to lose all the cookie-blocking settings I have configured.

In IE if you go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy -> Sites
you can list a load of domains from which you do not want to accept cookies. I cannot figure out how to backup this list. I tried searching the registry for some of the more abnormal domain names but found nothing. Is there any way to achieve this?
