morocco31477 Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 When you go to download something using IE7, it Vista wants to save it to \*user*\downloads by default. How can you change this, I want the default folder to be the Desktop.
nitroshift Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Just select the Desktop next time you download something, it will remember your settings.

spacesurfer Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Type %userprofile% in the search box in start menu (or in Run). It will bring up all your personal folders. Right-click download --> location tab --> move location --> pick where you want your downloads to go.Done.You can change the location of all the other folders as well like Documents, Music, Pictures, Contacts, etc.
neo Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Open Registry Editor (Type regedit in Run dialog box and hit enter)and navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet ExplorerNow check the string (REG_SZ) value named Download Directory, change the path according to your need.Restart IE to take effect.
