dandownunder
Hi, I am trying to install Adobe Acrobat 6.0 professional on my new Vista Business PC, for some reason the install starts fine, then hangs about 3/4 of the way through and just sits there. Any ideas, why is it doing this ? do I have to change settings ? I know I had to when I installed it on XP.Any help would be greatly appreciatedCheersDan. oldwolf
First thing to do, is find out if it is compatible with vista.I presume it wont be. You may have to get an updated version.
hexLock
I think that only version 8 works with Vista, so you need to upgrade your Acrobat version.

nitroshift
The reason why you can't install it is because it tries to install a printer driver that it uses to output the pdf files which is not compatible with Vista. However, as the other have said in the previous posts an updated version might work. Only thing is to check whether this new version is compatible with Vista or you'll waste your money on a program you'll never use...
Andromeda43
As of Windows XP you had to use at least Adobe Acrobat 7.0All versions of AR 6.x were good for 98 and ME only. (FAT-32 hard drives)Download Acrobat Reader 8.x for XP or Vista.Cheers!B)
spacesurfer
Adobe Acrobat 6 works fine with XP.For Vista, have you tried installing in compatibility mode? Some programs seem incompatible work install fine when installed in compatibility mode.I've installed Nero 6, SoundForge 8, CD Architect 5.2 in compatibility mode and they work fine without crashes.
