So if you guys know of any, please share them with me.Aslo I had a question about HD and Blue-Ray Drives for PC. When are we gona see these drives on PC anyway. I really want to put in a HD Drive in my new system. So if anyone has any info on these topics, please share it with me.THX! P.S. Fusion

rendrag Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 good luck finding a cable-ready hdtv tuner... the only ones that are out there are for terrestrial HD (think rabbit ears). ATI just came out with a true HDTV tuner using the Cable-Card spec, though there are some caveats:1. at the moment it's only available to the big box builders (HP, Dell, etc). It won't be available to the retail space for a while.2. I believe it's only external, though I'm sure they'll make an internal version.otherwise, the ATI HDTV Wonder got good reviews, and I believe hauppauge has made one as well.
nmX.Memnoch Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Hauppage does indeed have a couple of ATSC OTA (over-the-air) models. The WinTV-HVR-950 is a USB 2.0 solution and the WinTV-HVR-1600 is a PCI solution and comes with a remote. We actually just got the 950 for a solution we're testing at work. It just came in though so I haven't had a chance to mess with it yet. We aren't going to use the little antenna that came with it...we got a seperate powered one. We're also only planning to use it strictly to pick up the broadcast...not for any recording (although I will be testing that).rendrag is right though...you won't find any (or many) cable-ready HDTV tuners.
