Need some tips for a silent install for this 2 apps

1) daemon tools 3.41, /qb or /qn dont working!

2) Norton Systemworks 2004

all in german :/

An if someone got a nice registry tweak file for WinXP german

I can, hopefully, help you with problem 1 :

I expect you extracted deamon.msi using winrar or alike from the file you got from daemontools. If so try to use /QB. (capital letters!!) It made it work for me.

Its working with Daemon Tools 3.41

First extract daemon341.exe with WinRAR or any compatible extractor, then run a /qn or /qb switch on the extracted daemon.msi file.

i can't seem to get daemon to install it keeps coming up with an error then abouts but it works fine manualy.

start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\daemon\daemon.msi /QB REBOOT=Suppress

any ideas?

you need to call the msi with msiexec.exe !!!

when u just click an msi file in windows

the default action is set to install with calling the msiexec.exe file.

you need to put that into your batch

ppl copy the msixec.exe into their install folder...

I also suggest Alcohol %120

I know daemon is freeware but I like alcohols gui

and since I know where that systemworks 2004 german came from

u can get alcohol from there as well,

just to make the point clearer I purchased alcohol, I often use it.

I have problem with 3.41.But go well with 3.33 with the same switch.So now changed back to 3.33 again.

were do i get the prog from and what would the new command line be to install it?

the msiexec is in your windows system32 folder

and the command line would be like

ECHO Installing Alcohol 120
start /wait %SystemDrive%\apps\msiexec.exe -i %systemdrive%\apps\alcohol\setup.msi /q

ok perfect it works, i had some trouble to find it but that's okay, is that possible to make a reg file for the registrations information ?

yes the easiest way is to export your current registry for alcohol

and import it before you install alcohol from your batch files
