March 24, 200719 yr vlite wont run because it says it needs me to install the stuff for the file system filter manager, so i tried every XP cd i have and every 2003 cd i have and none of them seem to work, what can i do about this?
March 24, 200719 yr The first thing that comes to me is that you're trying to use Vlite on XP.Vlite is for Vista. If you're trying to downsize your XP installation you need Nlite.
March 25, 200719 yr no he's trying to run the vlite tool under xp64you tried pointing it at your xp64sp2 disc?
March 25, 200719 yr I m not sure but try to use Capability Option to run vlite under Windows XP x64 Edition.

March 27, 200719 yr Right Click on vlite shoutcut and look for Capability tab into Properties. In this Select an OS and apply the changes. One more question to Brando569Have U installed .Net Framework 2.0 ?
March 27, 200719 yr You can't use the filter manager because it is 32-bit, specifically build 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101-2205);;;;;; Windows Image File Filter Driver;;;;;; Copyright © 2004, Microsoft Corporation;;; Author: Bangalore Guruprakash (brGuru);;;[Version]Signature = "$Windows NT$"Class = "ActivityMonitor"Provider = %MSFT%DriverVer=06/21/2006,6.0.6000.16386The proper one should be the one in \Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\ia64, that gets installed with the Vista RTM WAIK.
March 28, 200719 yr might be easiest to create a virtual machine, install xp on that (lite if you want it to go quicker -but dont remove the filter ) then run vlite in there
March 30, 200719 yr It should work on x64, when it prompts you for the filter manager install you should provide it with the x64 sp2 full cd, not the one in which you removed the filter manager.
