toastycheese678 Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Does anyone know how to enable DreamScene by default in an unattended file or in registry settings. I love those new "moving wallpapers" and it would be great if they were enabled automatically.Thank you
neo Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 It can't be achieved by registry settings.U have to install via MS-Update about ~22MB.
toastycheese678 Posted March 17, 2007 Author Posted March 17, 2007 Maybe I wasnt clear enough before. I have DreamScene integrated into my Vista Install. So when I reach the desktop the first time it is already installed. I just want to enable it automatically
KevinGT Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 (edited) I haven't done this yet, but try searching the registry for "dreamscene"edit- check out HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop, specifically the string value "WallPaper".HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DreamSceneHKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\LastThemeI haven't actually seen a DWORD where you can simply switch a value though (like 0=off, 1=on, that kind of thing)New edit-It's the second one, HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DreamScene that does this. If you have a static, boring plain old picture wallpaper currently being used, the string value named "FilePath" will be blank. To turn on DreamScene, give it a value "C:\Windows\Web\Windows DreamScene\vidxxxx.mpg", substituting xxxx for 1337, 8897,8898 8899, or 9899, depending on what one of the currently available five mpgs you want to use.
