DirectX 5 NT4 Beta

Featured Replies

Could someone provide a download or email me a copy of the legendary NT5 Beta of Direct X 5.0 that will work on NT4?

With SP3 you have directX3 instaled and you could try directX6.1, on my computer it works just fine. NT4 does in fact take the Dx6.1 install, and it works. I have to point out that its a matter of security access to the hardware that NT does not allow, not the fact that DX doesnt work with it.

Here is a to download dx6 for win NT 4.0

And here is more of goodies for NT 4.0

The following isn't directly related to your Q but it is a interesting read.

So, does anybody have the Direct X 5 beta for NT that works?

Google for dx5nt4.zip, and follow the links. eg http://dars.com.ru/download/support/microsoft/direct-x/

I merged it over the sp6 stuff, and it seems to work. None of the games i have (eg DOS 6.22 ) seem to require it, but your mileage may vary.

As to slipstreaming SP into NT. This is not possible. The best you can do is to fake some bits (like atapi)

see http://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversion/index.php/t82169.html for the gory details.
