Recommended Posts

Very simple.

Copy all from CD 1 to a optional folder. WXPMCED.

CD 2 copy CMPNENTS to the same folder that CD 1 WXPMCED.

Open TXTSETUP.SIF with notepad.

Change the following to.

[sourceDisksNames.x86]

1 = %cdname%,%cdtagfilei%,,\i386

2 = "%cdname%","%cdtagfilei%",,\cmpnents\tabletpc\i386

3 = "%cdname%","%cdtagfilei%",,\cmpnents\mediactr\i386

4 = "%cdname%","%cdtagfilei%",,\cmpnents\netfx\i386

don't need to edit TXTSETUP.SIF

Windows XP first try to detect the 2nd CD contents (folder CMPNENTS) and prompt for Disc 1 if they are not found.

Copy all from CD 1 to the root folder such as: XPMCECD

CD 2 copy CMPNENTS to the same folder that CD 1 XPMCECD

why let it propmt? I don't get it!!!!! anyway Svenby's way worked just fine and dandy ;) cheers.......

If the files are on the CD it won't prompt. If you realy want to make sure it won't prompt you can just create a tagfile to tell setup that this is also CD 2. Just create a file in the root directory named WIN51IP2.

...And what do I put in that file?....Or do I leave it empty?

It doesn't matter, It's just a tag file. To save space just copy one of the other tagfiles (they all start with WIN51) and name the copy WIN51IP2.
