Thats right, i ran this command in an admin-elevated CMD window on an already-running vista ulti x86 OS.

And the command + syntax seem to be perfect, i did not need to make any changes at all. (note: for some strange reason though, the cab gets extracted in the same directory as the CAB, instead of the C:\sandbox )

About integrating, i havent looked into it yet, but personally i'd rather not integrate beta versions (eg: dreamscene) into a production image.

If nuhi could provide a possibility to pause the installation for users to add the updates manually to the image, then that would be a big help I think.

Actually, you could let vLite do its job & then add the updates manually. Or you could add in the updates & then customise down your *.WIM with vLite....

I must be doing somenthing wrong. Can't get the cab file installed. I see that Vista already has pkgmgr in it, but also downloaded the one in the link above, and it is the same one. Here is the command I typed in CMD (run as Admin).

start /w pkgmgr /ip /m:e:\temp\dreamscene\dreamscene.cab /s:e:\temp\sandbox

Would like to get this installed as I don't want to install Dreamscene via update everytime I redo Vista.

regard in MRT Windows - April 2007 (KB890830)

instal it normal

then go to

Windows/System32/

grap the file name

mrt.exe

then

pot it in your D:DVD/sources/

and open the img install.wim and do the same

Microsoft has released the latest monthly security updates for May 2007 and has made them available for download from the Microsoft Download Center or via Windows Update/Microsoft Update.

Windows:

-KB935966: Vulnerability in Windows DNS RPC Interface Could Allow Remote Code Execution.

-KB931768: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer.

Microsoft have also released the usual update for the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and the Windows Mail Definition Updates (x86) (x64).

This Update pack it is apply to windows vista ultimate retailer

All the hotfix and updates were downlaoaded by me fro Microsoft offcial website ( http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/results...;DisplayLang=en )and it contains up to the latets updates ( up to 11th May 2007 ) and includes Ryan Netframe Service Pack 1 ( http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/updatepack.html )and Macromedia Flashplayer and Shockwave player and some extra smoothing fonts from Microsoft and hardware assessment and Microsoft Java (latest)

and much more which I will describe later when I am in a good mood

I made this pack for my own personal use and it was difficult to get the updates I needed some were hard to get from Microsoft. I want you to be understanding and not be put off by the size of the pack.

I put all the switches and programs inside. just extract it and you will find inside it, one is a command for instance and the other one is a note-text which contains the full name of each update and the programs with their switch. Excuse me for not being well organised.

The file size is 150 MB and the file attached contains more info about each update.

I split it into 3 parts.
