Bachus Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 Alright, my dad and step mom bought a used laptop from some guy on ebay (a 100MHz Pentium w/ 32mb ram). It was supposed to come pre-loaded with several pieces of software (including Windows) but unfortunately we can't get the thing to boot. When you press the power button the power led and the fan turn on, but after a second it'll go off again. I've tried removing the battery, but that didn't make a difference. Anyone got some ideas on solving this problem?
cspm2003 Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 maybe there are some cmos settings wrong. Try to reset the cmos. Also, does it make any beeps, display anything on the screen?
DaveXP Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 it turns on but after a sec turns off is that right if so send it back becuase the motherboard has gone same thing happen to my Sony laptop cost a bit to have that repaired.
