Id also recommend doing something like a basic PC maintenance course at your local college or night school. Or even do you A+ PC Maintenance, its very easy, people who where pretty alien to computers in my old class soon picked it up and where confident and able in a short period of time.

Being in an environment like that is great, as you dont just learn from your tutor, but from fellow class mates you can learn tips and things your tutor wont even be able to teach you.
