grzesiek Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 (edited) I was thinking that i will have no more problems with tv tuner but after i used version 1.2.1 the problem back. Before i had almost the same problem with version 1.0.1, but with 1.1.0 and 1.2.0 all worked ok. The only things i changed is that i used version 1.2.1 and i added some new hotfixes and changed directx from october to december. When i install drivers for tv tuner or even for my mobo, windows tryed to install some drivers for MEDIA like "BDA Slip de-framer", "NABTS/FEC VBI Codec", "Closed Caption Decoder", "World Standard Teletext Codec", "Microsoft Streaming Service Proxy", "Microsoft Streaming Clock Proxy", "Microsoft Streaming Tee Sink-to-Sink Converter", "BDA IPSink" the drivers are detected but after i have message that cant install this device because there is some wrong service installation section in the INF file, and then i have several question marks in device manager, but after i restart computer the question marks are gone. Then when i try to run program to watch tv i have error 8007007E: Cannot create video capture filter, the program is running but nothing work. For sure that nlite doesnt cause this problem i only used hfslip and installed windows but the problem is still so i think it maybe the problem with directx slipstreaming because when i dont slipstream directx all is working ok. My tv card is some kind of Prolink PixelView quite old but i think this problem is not because of card. I add that the drivers to my tv tuner (video, audio, tuner and crossbar) are installed correct only this drivers for "MEDIA" witch dont want to install effects that tv tuner doesnt work. I think this is the longest post i ever wrote, for sure on msfn forum I attached the log file and WU.txt file.HFSLIP.zip Edited January 6, 2007 by grzesiek
Tomcat76 Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 A few things....1) The handling of the DX9 core hasn't been changed since HFSLIP version 1.0, so it's strange that 1.0.1 was problematic, 1.1.0 was OK, 1.2.0 was OK too and 1.2.1 is problematic again.2) You say that you are slipstreaming DX9 but I can't derive that from the HFSLIP log file.3) According to your log file, you are using XP SP2, which already comes with DX9c so there's no need to slipstream it.4) Note aside: any reason why you're not including WindowsXP-KB904706-v2-x86-PLK.exe, a security update for DX9?
grzesiek Posted January 7, 2007 Author Posted January 7, 2007 (edited) 1) I just slipstreamed the same hotfixes, directx from october and this hf for dx with version 1.1.0 because i dont have version 1.2.0 and i have the same problem. So i dont know how this worked before, mayby i didnt slipstream dx. But is dx slipstreaming works on windows xp with sp2 ?2) Sorry, now i attached proper log file.3) Yeh but id like to have the newest version 4) I didnt know about this hf, ill try to slipstream it later and see if it will help.HFSLIP.zip Edited January 7, 2007 by grzesiek
Tomcat76 Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 As I said, Windows XP SP2 already comes with DirectX 9.0c. The *ONLY* update to the DirectX9 core of Windows XP SP2 that I know is freely available is the KB904706-v2 security update. The recent packages of DirectX9 contain the ORIGINAL DirectX 9.0c core plus some EXTRA files which are not part of the core.Since Windows XP SP2 already contains the original DirectX 9.0c, you can only add the KB904706 security update and the EXTRA files from the December package of DX9.HFSLIP supports the *d3dx9*, *d3dx10*, *xact* and *xinput* extras. From your log file, these are ignored:Apr2006_MDX1_x86.cabApr2006_MDX1_x86_Archive.cabdxdllreg_x86.cabdxupdate.cab
grzesiek Posted January 7, 2007 Author Posted January 7, 2007 So i must delete this 4 cab archves, add this hf and everything will be working, or i must delete all dx cabs and leave only this hf ?
Tomcat76 Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 You don't *have* to delete those 4 cab files. HFSLIP just ignores them so having them in the HFCABS folder doesn't do anything bad.But you should remove BDAXP.cab and dxnt.cab because HFSLIP does NOT ignore these.
grzesiek Posted January 7, 2007 Author Posted January 7, 2007 ok thanks for help, ill see if this will be working now.
Camarade_Tux Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 HFSLIP supports the *d3dx9*, *d3dx10*, *xact* and *xinput* extras.Btw, last time I updated directx, I couldn't find anywhere these files were supported. In fact, I couldn't find any details for directx on hfslip.org. You should maybe drop a line or two.
grzesiek Posted January 7, 2007 Author Posted January 7, 2007 Now everything works fine . Thanks a lot Tomcat76.
