l0c4lh0st Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I just installed XPize. I went through the installation process, let it install the full package (incl. uxtheme patch, bootscreen, screensavers, etc. etc.)But when I rebooted, all I got was a blank Windows (looks something like the default Windows 2000 skin, very ugly). Before I had the standard Windows XP skin.I tried using the reloader tool, but it had no effect. The screensaver and bootscreen are installed properly. They look good. But unfortunately the whole thing why I downloaded XPize, doesn't work.... for me...The XPize skins don't show up in the theme settings page, only "Modified theme" shows up and shows that ugly, ewwwww, old Windows 2000 skin. To me, it seems XPize failed to patch uxtheme.dll?
ricktendo Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Did you happen to XPize over another Version or a clean machine?...This is what happened to me when i upgraded from 4.5 to 4.6b, I did not uninstall the prev. version and the login window went to the 2000 style one
l0c4lh0st Posted December 22, 2006 Author Posted December 22, 2006 (edited) No. I did not have XPize installed at all...What I forgot to mention is that also the icons are working. Just not the skin! Are there other users who had the same problem? Would like to know how to solve this, as I totally XPize EDIT: Can it be that XPize fails because I already have a patched uxtheme.dll? bledd Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 make sure the 'Themes' service is running first..try using this patcher..http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enh...tiPatcher.shtml
