Hi all,

I've got a winrar file with a file inside it of 4,5 GB. I've got two harddisks, C:\ (FAT32) and D:\ (NTFS). My OS is installed and running on C:\. Like most of you know FAT32 has a filesize limit of 4gb.

The rar file is on C:\. I tried to unrar it to D:\, which gave me an error saying only NTFS supporting filesize over 4gb. Probably the program is first unraring the file on C:\, then moving it to D:\. I also tried moving the winrar file to D:\, then unraring it from there, however it gave me the same error.

I think my problem is that winrar uses a temporary folder in C:\, so it always has to go past C:\. Is there a way to disable winrar using a temp folder so I can unrar the file from D to D directly? Or maybe have winrar unraring it in parts of, for example, 1 GB, so the limit won't be exceeded?

Thanks in advance

thanks for the reply.

There is a input box for temp folder, but option "Use only for removable disks" is vinked, so I don't think it will solve my problem...

[edit] I just tried it, same results as mentioned in first post [/edit
