up grading ram

I have allready 2 ram on my system ( spec tek pc 2700 (166) 512 mb )

now i got one ram samsung 1gb ( 2rx& pc2 4200u ) can i use this ram and upgrade to 2gb.

First one is DDR(1) and second one DDR2, so, there are very few motherboards that have DDR and DDR2.

What motherboard do you have any way?

EDIT: And NEVER you can use DDR and DDR2 together...

DO NOT MIX DDR AND DDR2!!!! Read your motherboard manual!

Memory:

Four 184-pin DDR SDRAM DIMM sockets

Support for DDR 400, DDR 333, and DDR 266

Support for up to 4 GB of system memory

So those DDR2 don´t fit any way .

What’s the fun , I would be crying ... Imagen, your nice 939 nForce4 SLI 32 mobo with X2 4800+... Then you wish your RAM snapped and not your mobo .
